I just logged into their website to see what tickets were still available and I didn't find a link to even check the inventory. Anyone else have this problem? I don't think they could have sold out that fast considering people on the waiting list were passing up 2009 tickets as well.
No, I realized what I did wrong. I clicked on the "get tickets" link on the website and then logged in using my waitlist account info. I didn't see any links for tickets tho, but it let me login. Then I went back to the Jets' website and clicked on the "my account" that was towards the bottom. This actually took me to a slightly different website where I put in the same login info and it let me login again, but this time took me to the waitlist account profile page. Basically, the tickets are only available to the people on the waitlist and haven't been made available to the general public yet. I still have to find someone to give me the cash for the tickets though before I buy them. I don't have the money available to shell out for them and then sell them. A coworker might be buying them though. Not sure yet.
Again, no need to rush into anything. There will be Jets tickets galore for 2009 and even 2010. For 2011, expect a flood of tickets available as some of the Buyer's Remorse people either dump their PSLs at a loss or reluctantly hold onto them but try to resell their overpriced tickets, then realize they have to unload them at a loss. Bottom line is, there will be NO SHORTAGE of Jets game-day tickets on the open market for years to come.
Well, it is the very last regularly scheduled NFL game at Giants Stadium. That will never be worth zero
I'm sure that all they will offer to new ticket subscribers in the new stadium will be the PSL seats. The Giants can't sell PSL's. What do you think the Jets will be stuck with? I'm convinced that both teams are counting on one thing to sell PSL's...the return of NFL local TV blackouts. Don't forget that you only see Jets and Giants home games because they are sold-out. Those of us who remember the good-old days of NFL home game blackouts know that the only way you could watch an home NFL game back then was to BE THERE! Of course, I suppose you can get around that now with NFL game packages which didn't exist back then. If Jets and Giants games are blacked-out in the local TV market, then that might spur the sale of PSL seats. I don't think it will work, but I'll bet that's what the teams are counting on at this point. Hey, just buy the NFL package. As for me, I've given-up my lower level Giants Stadium seats for non-PSL seats in the upper deck of the new stadium. And, yes, I believe that a lot of fans gave up their season tickets now because all they were offered in the new stadium was PSL seats that they couldn't afford.
buying tickets Log into FAQ and it gives you the link to TICKETMASTER . That's where they post tickets to be sold. So far, no tickets are posted .
Thanks, but it's taken care of. I was logging in from the wrong link. I had to follow the link to "Login to your wait list account" instead of the one linking me to Ticketmaster. I don't know if it's still like that, but it doesn't really matter at this point because I'm not buying anything for this year as I already had a ticket from my friend
No question about it. This is the main reason for people dumping their tickets this year. Nice work, Woody.
I did wind up biting on the 1/2 season package.........but like others have been saying, there's gonna be plenty of avaialble tickets this season and for the next few. It's kind of funny seeing how the organization has no sense of their market, severely over estimates their draw and severely under estimates the impact of their abandonment of Long Island........I mean how do these people have jobs in their executive office. They're going to be scrambling for the nest few seasons on new ways to sell tixx.
New Season Ticker Holders Right now we don't know how many 2008 or earlier season ticket holders bought seats for 2009 and how many of those plan on remaining for 2010 season. Of those remaining 2008 and earlier season ticket holders in 2010 we don't know how many will move to the 27,000 seats upstairs and how many will buy a PSL. I would not be suprised at all if brand new 2010 season ticket holders in the more expensive seats got offered seats upstairs for 2010. 2009 season ticket holders will be notified first by section (most expensive first) then by senority. So a person in the Mezz who bought back on June 8th when tickets first went on sale will be called first for new stadium. A huge amount of people gave up seats in 2009 and a large amount of 2009 people are not staying for 2010. Plus all the ticket scalpers won't renew after selling seats at below face in 2009. I think given all these problems there is a good chance 2009 new season ticket holders in good seats will have a good chance at staying in 2010 either in the uppers or by getting a discounted deal on a PSL.
my thinking as well....i am fortunate as i have some funds available to slap down on a decent PSL but the supply demand favor is yours if you are patient..... unless the jets rip off a 7-1 start then i will likely wait into next spring.... jil
There's a negative wait list. Jets sales reps are beating the bushes in search of warm bodies on the street who happen to be wearing anything green. They're running ads, pestering people in person at games and offering discounts to generate interest. Pretty soon it'll be like the NJ Devils in the eighties, open up a box of cereal and find 8 free tickets inside.
HA!! Exactly right!! I just got the email about luxury boxes...Full, Half Season, and individual games all available. 22 tickets per box, plus 6 VIP parking passes. I'm going to email them for the goof and see how much they want...this should be interesting!!
People just don't want to bother knowing they will be giving them up next year. This year you can buy two seats in row 5 near the 50 for $2000. Next year those same two seats will cost you $14,000 + $40,000 for the PSLs. Nobody really cares to get involved with that.
That didn't take long to hear back from the Jets ticket office...You can get a luxury box with 22 tickets and 6 parking passes for $20,000 (Pats and Bengals), all other home games are $18,500. Food and beverages may be ordered through Aramark, our official on-site caterer, at an additional cost. NO THANKS
