For a guy who will serve predominantly on blitz packages, he'll do. I still worry about his size and lack of pass rush moves, but having an edge rusher with his speed is a net asset on a team that lacks speed in the pass rush to begin with. At the very least he's not taking up space for anyone who is significantly better.
Good re-signing of a player that never should have been cut. He adds more needed speed to the defense & better depth. This is why I love Rex, he will make changes when things ain't right. This upcoming Ravens game will bring worth even more changes. Jets also re-signed Eddie Jones to practice squad. Jones has decent speed & great size at LB position. News Flash: Bart Scott & Bryan Thomas won't be full-time starters by next season & may even be let go. Jets will be upgrading.
Bart Scott not starting? Are you kidding me? Bryan Thomas not starting? Brilliant deduction, as hes a free agent?
Could he just be brought in for the Scout team to prepare Hunter for Suggs? Obviously Maybin is no Suggs but we have no one at OLB that compares to his speed?
Thomas yeah, but Barts not going anywhere. The way we've restructed his contact is that its fully guaranteed next year. It wouldnt make sense to cut him.
LOL @ anyone who thinks Bart Scott isn't a starter and won't be starting for us at ILB down the road. Guy had a great first two games.
I mean hes strong as hell, but I was under the impression he was drafted for his speed and quickness off the line rather than his strength. I'm pretty sure the strength came later.
Did you figure the Bryan Thomas part out by the fact that Thomas' contract is up at the end of the year?
