He's 226 lbs which is saftey size, but he's not athletic enough to be a real safety, so when you bring him in, everybody and his/her mother will know he's gonna rush the passer.

As bad as the Bills needed some pass rush the last two years, Maybin couldn't even get on the field. He's simply too small to be a DE, and he can't play another position. This move smells of desperation.

The "This smells of desperation" reaction is overblown. When he was cut I believe it was acknowledged that it was because they didn't have any room left on the roster but that they would have kept him around if they had a spot. Now a spot opens up on the roster and they resign him - I don't exactly see that as desperate.

i am happy we did this...The guy played well enough to make the team.

I hope he can do something to get to QBs

And? Aren't most DEs going to be rushing the passer? Just because we bring him in doesn't mean we're sending the house.

He's going to be washed of out the play every time he rushes.

That's only if he sees the field. He may not even dress for games.

If Maybin was black we wouldn't even be having this conversation.

We've certainly seen him brushed off like a fly by much bigger dudes, but we've also seen him be able to use his speed to negate the size issue. I don't think it's so cut and dry that he's going to be useless if he sees the field. I'm not on the "Maybin is the answer" bandwagon, but I don't think it's fair to summarily dismiss him before he even plays a snap for us.

    Very true.

Not sure what to think. He led the team in sack in preseason against scrubs, so IDK he could be ready..

    *cue sarcasm face*

He led the team is sacks in the preseason. So what does that say about everyone else?

Pringles or Lays? With Maybin's speed, I can't see how he keeps that chip on his shoulder for long, unless he uses tape or something sticky.

For the record, I'm not going to say anything serious about this pick up because the last time I talked up Maybin, they cut him ten minutes later.

That's just wrong. His weight fell to 22x because he had pneumonia. By the time the Jets picked him up he got up to 240. For all we know he might have gotten back up to the 250 he was at last year by now.

He's not 226. He's up over 240, which is still undersized, but higher than the severely underweight 226 he weighed in at in the offseason. Either way, he's likely to keep getting owned with his one dimensional rush game.

    How is that for timing?

On another note, this makes me think we won't have a spot to trade for Curry, who is definitely a better option and may have came cheap, picks wise.
