Can't wait for TC. With all the competition for roster spots amongst vets, this will be the most entertaining TC in years! Hell, we haven't even hit on the QB comp and I have a feeling this year it will be legit too.

I feel you, most of the moves they have made this year look really smart and I have been trying to be skeptical, even the people here that look for any reason to bash the Jets are having trouble finding a lot to complain about

Well, you can laugh but if that happens at least most here won't be all that surprised.

You left out Wilkerson's possible stance, meaning of his agent, in negotiations on extending his contract. reading the tea leaves here, and seeing as how they have not done a deal yet, you have to wonder whether it is an unreasonable demand on his part that is holding up doing a deal. If that is the case, that is a factor in their considering trading him.

I could probably get on board with trading Wilkerson for the 2nd pick straight up. It's Tennessee's biggest need and he is a proven player. I dont think they would do it, but I can see the logic behind it.

Wilkerson and the 6th pick for the 2nd pick? Doubt thats happening lol. Laughably bad trade.

Yeah, that's false. Two or three people discussing and majority of others laughing does not qualify for "most". If something that unrealistic happens we can talk then.

Most? I know your ego is monstrous, but you can't possibly be under the impression that because you think Mo could be traded now that LEGER DOUZABLE is signed, most people wouldn't be surprised.

I think almost everyone... from the media to the fans, would be SHOCKED if Mo went to Tennessee for the #2 pick.

to be clear, the trade scenario brought up had nothing to do with Douz.
it had to do with the possibility of being all in on Mariota, as well as doubtful on re-signing Wilk.

and the trade parameters discussed were Wilk + our 6th for Tenn's 2nd.
it obviously would not happen straight up for their 2nd..

I am a Wilk supporter, as i would guess BB, and others in this thread are.
this is all just speculation talk for the fuck of it. i'd rather Wilk remain on the team long term..
to deny any possibility of trading him is keeping your head in the sand tho......especially since we have no future QB on this team.

Regarding your point and Decker's in the previous post, I don't think anyone is claiming Douz would not have been signed unless the FO had determined they will try and trade Wilkerson. In fact I think he belongs on the team and is a good player even if it were and is their intent to keep Wilkerson.

But by the same token the signing of Douz does, I think, give them somewhat more protection and flexibility of they go ahead and deal Wilkerson.

hold out or not, i think its pretty poor value trading mo to move up 4 spots, especially when at 6 we are sitting pretty with plenty of hgh end talent at positions of need

How about if the Tits threw in a pick next year, like the second?

Did Wilkerson EVER make a public demand regarding his salary, a la Revis?

    When? Where? Through whom?

I don't know if there was any [substantiating] reason to start considering life after Mo.

An unreasonable demand does not have to be made publicly. I am not sure what you are driving at.

I think that is asking too much, and won't happen from the Tits perspective.

If Wilkerson made such a ridiculous demand, Jets front office would have said SOMETHING. No?

Resigning Douz is an excellent one. This appears to be one of those quiet moves that competent franchise (in any sport) makes, which is strange to see from the Jets. Maybe things are looking up?
