I must say probably no credence to this. Crowder is only part of offense that works quite frankly. And he is Gase guy. Poole on 1 year contract. Can’t fix a team in 1 draft! So accumulating picks at some point becomes Futile. As there are only certain amount of NFL talent in one draft. Plus this next draft will be even more of crapshoot With Covid. I'm not a big fan of moving Crowder and I don't know how validated this report is (IB stirs shit up sometimes, sometimes he's right). It makes sense for us to be selling players off now though. The problem with moving Crowder is that he still has 2+ years worth of quality play for this team. Poole? Trade him for a 5th. He's gone at the end of the year anyways and a slot corner. If we're going to really strip it down to the bare bones, then we might as well do it.
The core pieces are not getting traded. What people here who are overreacting need to understand is that Bell release had some merit to it. That merit is that our incompetent coach would not play Perine, who needs to be evaluated and is a potential future core piece. Bell is gone regardless. Whether he plays in rest of games or not is simply irrelevant, it is more important to give PT to Perine, and incompetent Gase plays old Gore, who most definitely was not brought in to be a featured back. Now Perine, who may be the future, piece will get time. Bell, who is not the future, and didn't exactly play very well, won't. No harm done, and there is a some logic behind it. Trading guys like Perine for a tweet, who was just drafted and for whom they opened up the spot just now, or Crowder, who is playing well, on a decent contract, and can be a future core piece, makes absolutely no sense and will not be done. JD is building the core. The sooner fans realize what JD is doing, the sooner things will start making sense.
So then is Gore getting traded or released today, if not releasing Bell does nothing. Gase will just utilize Gore even more now
What's really disturbing is that on most teams. trading your one and only legitimate offensive weapon would be unthinkable, but with the Jets, it's not only thinkable, it's quite possible. Watching this team is like watching a blind drunk trying to drive a car down a winding country road.
The jet way. Lol utilize a 37 RB on one yr contract on man 0-5 team! And only asset is Perine, and don’t want to give him chance. Oh forgot, some scrubs you picked up on practice squad. Amazing! We have the WORST RB and WR rooms in NFL by far! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Cmon there is no rhyme or reason to cutting your starting RB week 5. That was off the cuff move. I believe JD/Gase have a plan! They are team. Until they aren’t. Whether the plan is good or not, remains to be seen. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I wouldn't put it past Gase, to be sure, but at this age Gore cannot sustain full featured back load. Without Bell, Gase's hand is forced and Perine will end up getting more time.
That weapon was ranked 51st out of 53 qualifying backs on yards per carry with the Jets. Let's not pretend this was some huge loss. He asked to be traded on Monday, wasn't contributing much anyway, and would be released regardless at the end of the year where Jets are tanking. There is more time now for a young guy who will actually be here next year. I don't get the outrage over this move. This is going to be a tough season to get through, but Bell sure wasn't helping much. Losing him makes very little difference this season.
Well he was not used correctly with minimal snaps! So in that sense you are right, gase was not going to set him up for success. Just so you know he could have done more if allowed, and that will play out on his next team! The only back worth seeing in 4th round pick, he is not feature back and not sure he is NFL back at this point. But we can take a look. We could have done that with bell here. Gore don’t care and FA scrubs don’t matter either. So not much of a win. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
They are not getting rid of gore, he is gase guy, unless gore asks. Out of respect they may move him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Oh, sorry. Crowder not elite for sure. But plays hard and good in slot. Has some dropsies. But overall ok. Only reason big loss is or WR group full of marginal NFL receivers. Otherwise he is just another guy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
They are not getting rid of Crowder. I already explained that this is a different situation than Bell. Some doofus just put up a BS tweet, we all need to relax a bit.
I already qualified my concern as being based on the Jets idiotic track record of doing completely stupid things. Unless you have some proof that shows conclusively that they wouldn't trade Crowder, it doesn't alleviate my concerns.
Just confirms what I felt when he let Robby walk out the door and traded away Adams. Our two best, most dangerous players from last season. It's a total tear down 'rebuild'. Not even trying to hide it now.
JD does not have this track record, and with all due respect, getting rid of Bell does not qualify. So far every move he made had some reason behind it, which makes sense. Some moves, like Anderson, were proven wrong, but at least they made sense at the time. Getting rid of Crowder just doesn't make any sense: he is under a decent contract and is playing well, and could be a future piece, unlike Bell. The conclusive proof we are not trading him will be there after trade deadline. No reason to beat yourself up just yet over some nobody putting up fake news on a tweet.
In three games Crowder has 22 catches for 335 yards and two TDs. With our trainwreck offense that is pretty elite. For some perspective he averages 14 yards more a game and 2 yards more per reception then Robbie Anderson who everyone currently gaga about.
Darnold is getting hung out to dry. He's been set up to fail this year. The Jets have already made up their minds about him. His long term future isn't with the Jets. At this point he could be gone by the trade deadline who knows?
Bell was going to get cut after this season anyway. In addition, Gase doesn't know how to use him properly and he wanted out. Finally, this helps the tank and Lose for Lawrence.
