First play of the season they should line up both QBs next to each other in the shotgun, just to throw everyone for a loop. We all know it's going to be a handoff up the middle for 2 yards so what's the difference?
What part of "will use in the red zone" means "will pull Sanchez every time he crosses the 20." You guys need to relax. The field gets smaller in the red zone (and RELAX, they mean the closer you get to the goal line), and that's when a wildcat attack really evens the scales.
Using him in the red zone is fine, putting him behind center whenever we're in the red zone, would be lunacy.
Like any fuckin beat writer knows anything about the offense. They'll use both in the red zone. Sanchez was good in the red zone last year.
Anyone able to look up the red zone effeciency for Tebow and Sanchez? Is there a stat for inside the 10? Im ridiculously excited for this season, we are going to watch some football some of us have never seen before. I have a feeling the Sanchez/Tebow duo will flourish and we have an huge year!
Either way if we score im happy...but i dont see them taking Sanchez out after driving the team down the field...if its 3rd and goal and we had to shots to get it in on the 3 yard line...then i can see where they might try a play with Tebow, but that still doesnt mean Sanchez wont be on the field or even playing qb.
considering the lone bright spot of Sanchez last yr was his performance in the red zone this is sheer stupidity.
Wouldn't this go in the Tebow Section? None the less, I don't like this idea... I don't like it at all.
And I also hope they don't let Shonn Greene run a touchdown after "Sanchez drives the team down the field." It's important to think first of how to properly reward players for driving down the field.
I can actually see Rex using Tebow to go for a 2pt converstion after every TD. The conversion rate across the NFL is about 50%, which makes it a virtual toss up between always going for 2 vs just kicking the extra point. Enter Tebow: Let's say the Jets cook up some 2pt conversion plays using Tebow that get upwards of a 66%-75% success rate. Assuming we score 2-3 TD's a game, using Tebow for a 2pt try every time could give us an extra 1-3 points per game. That's almost and extra FG a game just because we have Tebow and you don't. That is, assuming we can score 2-3 TD's and Tebow can reach 66%-75% efficiency on 2pt conversions.
The biggest problems with this team are they have not run the ball enough and they don't get in the endzone enough. I don't care who the qb is as long as we run the ball and score points.
