Interesting tidbit on Lowery - 5 Forced Fumbles and 16 Passes Defended.

That's really good for a rookie CB.

Lowery is already better than Barrett and costs much less.

Makes no sense but okay. I wanted to talk about David Barrett. It would be worse to make a new thread.

Then I guess sending him to Cleveland was the wrong thing to do?

Releasing Coleman would have been a huge mistake...at least we got something out of trading him to Cleveland.

This team still have very, very little depth on the defensive line and it sucks. If a starter on the line goes down, our defense will collapse.

Kenyon Coleman was dealt to Cleveland because according to Rex Ryan he would not fit his scheme. I'd rather have a couple of no-names like Howard Green, Sione Pouha, etc., that Ryan thinks can fit his scheme compared to Coleman who is a bigger name but Ryan sees no potential for in his defense.

    I agree to an extent.

While the D would certainly suffer, I don't know if it would collapse. I think Rex/Pettine are much more innovative and creative than Mangini/Sutton; so they would devise a way to compensate for a Ellis or Jenkins injury.

I have a ton of faith in Ryan and Pettine...but Howard Green and/or Sione Pouha can't do what Kris Jenkins does.

I don't think Buddy Ryan could compensate for a Kris Jenkins injury.

I think an Ellis and Douglas injury, Rex can overcome/compensate. Jenkins...not so much. That's why I think it's gonna suck not having Pace, but I trust Ryan to come up with some scheme that will hold opponents in check.

Remember, in a Rex Ryan D, the OLB's aren't the only ones blitzing. However, Jenkins not here to take up 2-3 blockers for this D...would be a devastating blow.
