I remember when I began posting here (I forget which year) and I was saying he should be cut and I got trashed (which is why I stopped posting for about a year). He sucks, and for the most part always had. I'm glad to see him go.
Barrett really sucked. Signed after losing Winfield, he never did anything. Now, 5 months after being cut by the Jets, still has no offers from the other 31 teams.
Our release of him was long, long overdue. He should've been released after the 2006 season. To be fair, in 2004 he wasn't that bad. He made a couple of nice plays. After that he was our worst Cornerback, by far.
I'm pretty sure everyone knew this already. Or least those who know football. Barrett going unsigned is really of no surprise. Kind of a worthless bump if you ask me.
What happened was: 1. I checked to see who had signed him 2. then saw he was still a free agent 3. Then remembered how bad of a signing he was and felt like bumping this to say how bad he was. I was normally neutral on him, but in reality he was awful.
As long as he's still gone, it's ok. Every year you'd hear about our new scheme or improved defense, then you get out to the first game and there is David Barrett at CB again giving up an 11 yard completion on 3rd and 9. I'm so glad he's gone.
WTH are you talking about. First of all Kenyon Coleman was TRADED on draft day. AND a good 3-4 DE does not rush the passer. There really is no such thing, you people dont seem to get that. 3-4 DE = DT. DId I seriously go on for 3 pages about Kenyon Coleman? And not one person remembered he was traded on draft day. :drunk:
Don't get ahead of yourself there buddy. Drew "First Down" Coleman is still on this team. I'm hoping Coleman and Pettine being re-united will work wonders and we'll no longer see that kinda nonsense anymore.
He was a rookie last year, right? And me made some plays, I can cut him some slack. It's better than seeing the same guy year after year out there getting burnt.
Barrett is a good tackler but way too slow. The cushion he had to give WRs was absurd. His salary was way too big, and it was time to cut his ass.
