First off, it's always sad to see a guy who worked his ass off leave the team. I've been a Coles fan throughout his Jets career. Sure he whined. But he came to play on Sunday. I would not mind seeing him back in a lesser role and payroll hit. Even on the way out the door he did the right thing.

Secondly, I wonder if Chad Pennington is willing to take a second paycut to have his boy come play with him in Miami?

With the vacancy at WR, I sure hope Mike T has a plan. It seems as if he does and I get the feeling like we will be celebrating like it's Christmas around here in a few days.

    Make it happen Mike.

See ya coles! Boldin would be cool but alot of $$$$$. I think Clowney and Stuckey are both ready. Don't forget we got the big kid Henry from Kansas on the practice squad. He could be a daimond in the rough for the Jets.

Got to give Coles props for being a tough SOB but his production has gone down at the end of the season the last 3 years. At 31 it catches up with you. This is a good move for the team going forward. We have seen the best in Coles. If the Colts can part with Harrison we can part with Coles.

Its funny to me that posters complain about Coles whining. Its not like any of us have been happy with everything this team has done the last few years. And we dont even have to get off the couch, he has to go work for these people.

I think it's the constant whinning by a guy making millions playing a game that might tend to bug folks. It's clearly all a business to him and if that's his view great. But the Jets really don't need him.

God help us if that's our solution. DHB is Troy Williamson with a different name.

hopefully its Maclin or Hakeem Nicks

i see it being Maclin/Nicks/ or Britt (plays up to his size, unlike a certain other tall track star DHB )

Are you kidding, Anquan Boldin eats Laveranues Coles for breakfast. He's a top 10 wideout and I'd take him on my team any day of the week.

People overblow the sideline freakout way out of proportion bc of Terrell Owens. He does it like every game cuz he's a little bitch. But one little freakout does not make you a me player. Boldin certainly does not seem that way to me.

Wow this was an early morning shocker for me. The WR position went from a huge need to a crucial need overnight. I'm not sure how I feel about this, on one hand Coles is clearly going downhill and had a terrible year last year, on the other our WR position is barren and outside of the QB position is our biggest need now.

We must be gearing up for a wild spending spree starting tomorrow.

The Redskins. The Redskins do exactly what the Jets have been doing for the last two season.

Ok I think the reason he wanted out now is if the Jets do not get a QB then Coales was not going to have a good year #'s wise .... so I think he felt he had a beter shoot at getting a long term Deal with the #'s from the last few years.... If he was to play his last year with the Jets and have nobody to throw him the ball the his options would have been much smaller at the end of next year..

The news is calling him one of the BIGGEST free agents out there this year... Maybe he isen't so Dumb after all !!

Since I thought the team needed to do something at wideout, the good news is now they have to. Heh.

Coles used to be my second favorite player after Martin, but those concussions have taken something substantial off his game. He may have a year or two left, but his contract situation made this a good move for the Jets.
