Best thing that happened to him was collecting a paycheck for about $650,000 more per year than he was worth. Let's not feel too bad for the guy. He's made over a million dollars to be really bad at his job.
I'm happy for the kid... Petty needed a change of scene. The Jets did him a favor. Too bad they didn't do it last year. Too bad they drafted him period.
As long as he's out of New Jersey, its all good... Hopefully he's already 1500 miles southwest of the Hudson. I-78W to I-81S to I-40W. Next stop? Amarillo, TX.
Hack trying to "turn off" then "turn on" his mechanics, this ain't electronics ... 3 years in, you are in trouble unless the guy he is working with is a miracle worker and he can look better then Teddy at a very limited opportunity.
Hopefully Bryce gets picked up by a team who's HC doesn't play just old guys... and we didn't ruin this beast too
I hope this means that Teddys knee is in order - I'd hate to go into the season with us one knock away from having to risk Darnold or 'showcase' Hack.
Thank god we have darnold now and we don’t have to keep hoping that garbage like Petty geno hack or taj Boyd is somehow is the guy for us
Just plays old guys, so how come all the young guys on defense played since day one then? Probably wouldn't have anything to do with the fact Petty and Hackenberg are absolutely terrible would it?
This. The notion that Bowles doesn’t play young guys is so lame and lazy. Bowles doesn’t play shitty players (at least when better options are available). Hackenberg we know is awful. Petty was awful every time he touched the field. Why would Bowles play them? Putting either one of them in there would have been a disaster for all involved.
Hack will be with the team at least through Training Camp. He’s young and this will be the first time he’s been in the same offense for a 2nd year. Hack was always going to be a project. Bridgewater is gone after this year because he’s going to want a starting gig and McCown is likely going to be gone as well. Darnold will be starting once he understands the play book and I think that will happen by mid-season or earlier. There really is no reason to keep both McCown and Bridgewater now, except that if another team has major injuries and the jets showcase Bridgewater in the pre-season and other teams can see he is healthy maybe a team becomes desperate enough to save their season that they are willing to trade something worthwhile for Bridgewater. If the jets get a decent offer for Bridgewater in the preseason then I think they trade him and keep 3 QBs. Otherwise, I can see them keeping 4 because they want to keep Hack. I’m not sure the jets are convinced that they’ll be able to put Hack through waivers to add him to the PS.
