"TheJetsStream Manish Mehta Craziest stat of #Jets loss? They called 20 pass plays on 21 3rd downs. Only 1 designed 3rd-down run all gm http://nydn.us/eRNW1K #nfl #nyj" Posted in Schotty thread too, just wanted to make sure this FULL RETARD got exposed everywhere.
Yeah, but we didn't have many 3rd and shorts, so you can't knock Schotty for wanting to pass on 3rd and 5+.
Other other side of the coin is the fact that Sanchez was in so many 3rd and longs. It shouldn't have been the case.
You know what? I long for one of those Joe Walton third and lond draw plays from time to time. I see it work against us in certain formations.
A draw might actually pick up 5 yards in this offense. I don't know why this offense doesn't run a full playbook. I'm not asking for complicated shit, I'm asking for different types of plays. Schotty is reaching Bob Sutton territory with me.
Some variation would be great. I'd love to see one designed screen pass to LT, draw the defenders in and dump off to LT.
Yeah but something has to give. Since we're in the twitter thread, I have noticed this week players are not on twitter. I like it, I hope it means they're really getting down to business.
What do you mean something has to give? I love all the people who actually make up things to bitch about Schotty and speak them as fact. Execution is the problem with our screens. Schotty does run screens. He does run slants. He does have receivers running 10-15 yard routes.
On offense, meaning something has to work sooner or later. I didn't mention Schotty, just a overall statement about the offense. We can't go from our offense putting up about 28 points a game to not scoring at all. Something has to give.
Then why bitch about never running a screen when we do in fact run the screen? Our team just sucks at executing it.
It's alarming how bad we are at running screens. Isn't the screen play one of the most basic fundamental play in a playbook? I don't mean it's an easy play to pull off because if a defensive player reads it it's game over and you need athletic linemen. But we can't even get the fucking pass completed. Sometimes Sanchez guns it into the receiver's chest 5 yards away from him. Sometimes Sanchez floats it over his head to nobody. And sometimes the pass is flat out DROPPED.
That sentence is bitching? I hate to see what you think of the people that really come down on the offense. I want to see a successful screen, and we really haven't run that many. The scenario I talked about above, oh I mean bitched about above has not been executed. So don't know if the play never developed or what but that play I have not seen. Why are you so bitchy about my one post?
Something I observed, I guess I worded wrong and for that I am truly sorry. I wish I could see a successful screen pass to LT, where the blockers get to the second level and we gain substantial yardage off that screen pass.
