w00t. You guys will finish 3rd, ahead of the Bills. Your two rookie offensive lineman, while thier going to be great in the future, their rookies this year. I think their going to have their struggles in the begining. However, if I'm not mistaken, you could have a potential shot at Brady Quinn, Calvin Johnson, or Adrian Peterson. Good Luck!
You know I agree, that the Jets will finish with 6-7 (8 if they get lucky in a few games) wins. However, for a dolphin fans to come here and act smug, when they were in the SAME EXACT situation last year with people saying the SAME THING, shows a complete lack of class. Did you like when people trolled your board last year, saying the dolphins will suck with a young coach? Show some class.
Your dolphins should be okay. You got ricky W. to supply them with whatever they need and Marcus Vick to teach the players about the legal system.
I think it's too early for any predictions. Some days i believe the hype and hope Chad can come back and prove everyone wrong. then other times I just hope we don't have another injury plagued year. There are TOO MANY unknowns for anyone to make a serious prediction. If this happens or if that happens.... will have a heavy effect on our record. As things stand now, we are better than last years team ( for the future )... but last year majority of us were predicting superbowl .. So I'll say better than last year, but not quite ready to be the NFL champs ... if this happens or that happens
10-6? 10-6? That is totally out of the question. Unless we become one of those super suprising cinderella teams...(but let's be honest; it is in our bad luck that we won't be a cinderella team). 7-9 in 06...Which is really good for year 1 of a rebuilding era.
The term rebuilding is overrated. Without the injuries we're 8-8 minimum last season. We've gained more talent than we lost. Looking at the schedule I think we'll start out 3-3. By that time Mangini should have the wrinkles ironed out, making a 7-3 run to end the season very realistic. A couple key injuries and we're sub .500, but you can say that about almost any team.
Yeah..if Chad plays we're goin to come in 2nd...Everyone knows the Fins can't beat him, hurt or not:beer:
I'm figuring between 6 and 8 wins this season. We're in rebuild mode. New Coaches, new schemes, new terminology and new players in positions that they aren't totally familiar with. We're gonna surprise some teams and win 1 or 2 that nobody expects us to win, but then again, because it will be a new scheme, we'll blow 2 or 3 games that we should win with stupid mistakes and blown assignments. Because of the easier schedule, 8-8 is not an unreasonable guess but I still feel that there are too many question marks at certain positions (QB, Nose Guard, WR and even RB) for us to really make some noise. I'm figuring that we're 2 to 3 years away from a DEEP play-off run. Right now we are in the learning process and mistakes are going to be made. Put me down for 6-10. I'd rather be pleasantly surprised by us winning more games than I expect than to expect 10+ wins and be GREATLY disappointed.
You know, we could easily been a 7 win team last year- we just needed to get in the endzone against the Chargers and Dolphins to pick up those games. Also, with a few more inches on Nugent's kick, we win the Saints ballgame. Now, with the improvements on the coaching staff and personnel wise, I don't think its outlandish to say that we could be a 9-10 win team this year. Personally, I'm seeing 10-11 (but I'm hopelessly optimistic ).
I am thinking 7 wins. That would be a predictable start. We could go 8-8, too. At 9-7 we are already over-achieving for the year. I really do not see us getting passed that. There are too many unknowns and we have a brand new system on offense and defence. This has to have a bearing.
As of now, we've got what looks like one of the easiest schedules in the league, so 7+ wins is not too big of a wager.
why even bother playing then? We could be 12-4,we could be 4-12,who knows? I don't buy the "rebuilding" thing anymore. The way free agency and contracts work nowadays, teams don't have time to rebuild. It's a win now league.
There has been no official announcement by the team about the offensive and defensive schemes yet. I would not assume we're going to be seeing a 3-4 from the Jets this season.
5-11. Too many new factors to overcome here. New QB, OLine, HC, OC, system, old RB, no playmakers... I think you get the point here..
8-8 should be the goal here. A .500 season would be considered a great success, imo. I think the Jets will end up being around 5-11. Playing against the weakest division in the NFC North helps, but not enough. It's not like you're much better, or at all better, then any of them. Your division and the AFC South doesn't help. @ TENNESSEE-McNair, yes no, who knows. But overall one of the teams you can beat. NEW ENGLAND- No... just no.... @ BUFFALO- JP is the question here. But it's early do the D will be healthy and so will the backfield. They are better. INDIANAPOLIS- lol @ JACKSONVILLE- Everyones underrated for a reason. Jets won't win. MIAMI- Some have them TAKING the division. Wow. Point is they are a contender, far more than I can say for the Jets. DETROIT- Huge talent with underperformance. Ready to finally break through? Who knows. Beatable. @ CLEVELAND- Getting back up their themselves. Signing every other FA, watch out for them. Beatable still. @ NEW ENGLAND- Still no.... CHICAGO- Your D might match up somewhat against their hard pressed run O (depending on how well the scheme's been taken in by now). However you O is no match for their top D. HOUSTON- One of the most improved teams this offseason. Though still not a conteder, not a free one either. Beatable. @ GREEN BAY- Favre always gives them a chance. Woodson and Hawk help the D. Greens health is a concern. WRs arent good, but Favre will make them good. Beatable, but hard. BUFFALO- By now, as usual, their D will be pretty beaten up. Beatable. @ MINNESOTA- B. Johnson was great here last year. They are making their improvements. A hard, but beatable game. Almost made playoffs. @ MIAMI- Would be an upset. And with them being in a postion for the playoffs at this point, they won't lose at home. OAKLAND- Is a mess. Totally beatable. Those are, IMO, the best games you can hope for to get the 8-8. However, even with that you probably won't win all of them. I think GB, Det, and Cle will be the 3 that will end up making it 5-11.
I actually have no idea what they're going to wind up doing. The more I think about it the less I'd like to build around Vilma and D-Rob in a 3-4. In theory those are the two young players the defense is built around and neither of them appears to be well suited for a 3-4. Vilma's too small and D-Rob tends to get misdirected a lot in a 4-3, in a 3-4 he'll be moving the wrong way all the time with a constant double-team. We'll see what they do but I'm really wondering now.
Dont make RaiderJoe start posting heights, weights and 40 times. Thats what determines a team. Also I love these threads so RobA can tell us were going 14-2 (13-3 at worst(something like that))and winning the SB every year.
