I hate to burst the collective bubble, but if we have our WR's back for Thursday"s game, we probably will win.

Winning on Thursday not likely, even Vegas is not predicting.

  3. Id assume they can send out early feelers to agents to see if certain coaches would have interest in the job after this season..and if they get a yes they can use the season to assess them in their role then interview come late December

Id take a long look at Greg Roman.Hes a tough smart football guy, knows talent & does a good job w QBs.Could be the type who’s a better HC than he is OC too

In all honestly, if it's true that they're reaching out preliminarily to coaches, I think the Broncos game is not the lynchpin for his firing...It may be related to the "when" as opposed to the "if". After hearing the Cowherd take, it's clear that his source is the agent or agent's staffer so seems legit. And if the message from the source to Cowherd is that he's gone with a loss, imagine what the actual conversation was between NYJ and that source...What I'm most curious to find out is, due to the team's org structure, how much if at all JD is involved. At this point, w/ the body of work we have on the Johnson's, CJ is not the guy to be making these decisions...hell, Gase was the one who directed CJ to JD....So as long as JD is involved I'm ok, would be nice to hear some confirmation of that though...

    Fire _______!
Just wanted to be the first to say it, even though we have no idea who it will be.

Gase tells Chris Johnson to fire MacC and hire JD.. JD tells Chris Johnson to fire Gase and give him the authority to hire the next HC... Oh the irony!! Karma is always a cast iron bitch.

Thank you... I said it in the game thread. Sam looks lost and dejected. He comes off the field and sits by himself on the bench...no coach comes over to talk or even show him what the D is doing schematically on an Ipad. Not once in two years have I seen this.... Get this Fking bum out now and try to reinvigorate SAM...

BB used to sit with Tom and go over D in the league and opponents... when has sam ever gotten that kind of input or help. I really hope he is not to far gone to fix... if he is then JC needs to take responsibility.

I agree about giving Sam a break. But I think it’s also to use the rest of the year to evaluate Sam to see if he really is broken / not the franchise quarterback we hoped. Whoever ends up being the head coach, I think they will install an OC who will run an offense that plays to Sams strengths (e.g., rolling out) and stop making him a full-time pocket passer.

Vegas does not ' predict'. they just want equal wagering on both sides.

I don’t care if we beat Denver 45-3. That doesn’t change a thing in my mind about gase. That would just make me wonder what the he’ll was going on before this game. Not gonna happen anyway, but either way he needs to go.

Shit I wish having an 0-3 team lose the 4th game of the season would be one of my worst moments as a Jets fan...

I think the "he only gets fired if we lose" thing is a nice way of saying he's gone on Friday either way but it's a short week and we can't make that transition in two days.

One can hope at least. It's funny watching the promotional commercials for the game.

Gase hatred is strong on this thread. Everyone hates losing, fans, players, owners, talking head know-nothings who rely on clickbait

First, the text from the piece in no way suggests imminent firing and certainly not bringing in an outsider any time soon. they're talkin to agents about college and pros. there's no mid season newbie savior. that's worse than an illusion, mirage. Plus that is totally contrary to JD -- who has shown nothing impulsive. Even if Jets get smashed on Thursday and they make up their minds to fire Gase it won't be with an outsider until the end of the season and there's no insider that looks clearly better. Just not buying this.

We've played three pretty good QBs thus far (Yes Allen is good at least so far). Our secondary is too weak to use some of the blitz packages we did last year so our defense is suffering

The WRs on the field are borderline NFL, our running game is non-existent ATM, and our surehanded TEs (Griffin or Herndon) are dropping everything

We need to show some grit, tough it out and work this through. I can't imagine JD doing anything other than re-iterating that message. Even if we suck it will spare the confusion of yet another coach (yeah the one who's available midseason -- sounds like superstar to me), and another playbook. ANd why would we do that? to get a couple more wins (optimistically) and worse draft positioning?

If we start firing people it should start with guys like Desir (who has shown nothing other than stupid penalties), Ogletree who is still looking for Mosert, and Griffin/Herndon.

Sam had three stupid, costly picks. But at other times he was moving the ball on the #1 defense in the league

Yes I know it sounds like a lot of excuses for Gase and company, but regardless he is not getting fired -- at least not now and not for an outsider

Didn’t Caldwell get hired by ravens as OC like tight before playoffs few years ago?

Gase will be gone before end of season, guaranteed. If not Thursday then by the bye week, just depends on how bad we play!

Some blame lies on the players of course, but it is obvious even to the novice fan we are badly coached and he has lost the locker room, he is miserable, the players are miserable, and the fans as well. It has to end. Regardless of all the excuses.
