No its not. Thats more than fucking Andre Johnson the NFLs #1 WR is making. MORE Thats Andre Johnsons contract, under 9 million a year. You wanna tell me that a guy who is great (but not nearly as good as AJ), and who has a drug history is worth MORE money than Andre Johnson ?
Is he worth more? Probably not. Did he just get more? Seems that way. I don't think Adam Schefter is lying. That said, the devil is in the details. You never know what an NFL deal really is until you get the details.
You do realize that NFL contracts are ALL about the guaranteed money, right? The total money is just a fluff number that doesn't matter. Andre got 48 million guaranteed. Holmes got 24. When you look at deals recent receivers like Anquan Boldin got, we got a steal in Holmes.

5 yr 50 mill doesn't mean anything.... there must be some impossible bonuses to reach... I can't believe we'd overpay this much. Prob around 8.5 per yr + bonuses + backloaded deal.
I thought people would have Understood the importance of Guaranteed Money with the Whole Revis holdout last year but I guess not and the deal Tanny made with D'Brick
The value goes up every year on the market. If he went to the skins, they'd of given him 28 guaranteed.

I don't see how anybody can be disappointed in this signing. Tannenbaum gave him a deal he was comfortable giving him and that he had planned in his budget to give him. Mr. T has a plan here.. this is an excellent start, bringing back our best playmaker on offense.
Carson Palmer makes more than Aaron Rogers. Its all about WHEN the contract is signed. Chris Johnson is one of the best RBs in the NFL. What's he making this year?
Chris Johnson is on his rookie contract. Andre Johnson signed his contract LESS than 1 year ago. And im pretty sure Palmer isnt making shit now that hes retired.
yea looks like they combined his rookie deal with the 2 yr extension he signed. anybody know if the entire old contract becomes guaranteed money if an extension is signed? apparently he had $35 mil on his old deal and the extension was $13 guaranteed so that makes the $48 mil number, otherwise that number is bs.
