uhm, we still only have 52 players, why cut a possible backup to an unsure position like noseguard when you don't have... who are we looking to pick up???

Wow. I'm the clown? Did you not pick up on the sarcasm? The cries for Allen and Dixon the last couple of days....

He must be working a trade for Manning or Brady.

Shit, I thought the sarcasm was pretty damn obvious there.

....and in the back of the locker room, Revis just smiled nodded his head quietly.

Good to see that Dixon was resigned. He's a decent pass rusher.

They wanted him on the practice squad? No idea.

    He's good depth.

I'm strangely excited about Damon Harrison. I have a feeling he's going to pan out in a big way for this team.

    Harris

I watched some of the preseason games but didn't see this guy stand out. Anyone have any info on him because I was surprised he made the team. All I know is he is huge.

Yep, that seems to be exactly what they wanted. Waited til kind of late, cut Dixon to free up the roster spot. Picked up Aaitui off of waivers from Miami. Turned around and cut him. If he clears waivers, they'll resign and put him on the PS. If they didn't go through this, the Fish could have put him on their practice squad.

Yeah, it seems like this was a reason. Waiting to cut Dixon allowed them a better chance of resigning him.

I still think this was pretty risky, considering I thought Dixon was a pretty solid rotational player. But it worked out in the end.

With Dixon back in the fold, the Jets have an incredibly deep line, which is great to keep those big fellas fresh.

That is exactly what I thought...

I read Aaitui tore his ACL, so he is probably out for the year.

This. Tore his ACL & MCL in first practice with Jets. Fortunate Dixon was still available.

He seems like a good kid, I started following him on twitter the night we signed him and he's actually talked back to me a few times. Seems like he is really going to work his ass off to stick around in the league. All you can ask for from an UDFA.

I am a UNLV fan (and alum) so I knew both MTV and Aatiui and was disapointed to see both now cut. They were 2 of the few bright spots from the Mike Sanford era. However we do have 2 Nevada Reno players on the roster (unless one got cut while I was in Europe).

LOL, wrong again. But it is fun watching you jump to conclusions that Tannenbaum is up to something.

Are they running a charity or a football team? The guy got hurt and got his money. End of story.
