This is true.. Evidently for Oakland, the fruit actually did fall far from the tree.. the Jets otoh...
we were in trouble before training camp started 0-16 and a the #1 pick is best case scenario raiders by 100
I wonder what they didn't see in him, I guess it goes to show that a star can come from anywhere in the draft.
In addition, the more games they lose, and the more points our D gives up, the better the chances are that at least Bowles will be fired, and maybe Mac too!
Bingo. I had high hopes for both but Bowles is a guaranteed loser. I still had hopes on Mac but look at all his busts in high rounds. Lee, Mauldin, Jenkins, Devin Smith. He in my opinion is also part of the problem. I don't mind a fresh start. Open up the check book big time. Bring in Harbaugh or Sean Payton and draft the QB they like and use your cap money to strengthen O Line and getting established WR's. Losing this year will do wonders for Jets in future years.
Unless Hack never develops, Mac hasn't had any busts in a high round. Third round picks are considered mid-round picks. I think it's too early to call Lee or Mauldin busts. Lee is better suited to a 4-3 D. It's not his fault that his NFL coach is trying to force into a 3-4 ILB and not putting him in a position to make the best use of his abilities. It's starting to look doubtful, but Mauldin could still be a decent player and depth or a situational pass rusher. Jenkins is imo a good player and solid starter. Smith may have been a bust any way, but he couldn't stay healthy. He may have been a reach or just a bad pick in about any round. He missed one game his freshman season and two his sophomore season. He played in all games his last two years of college at OSU. So his injuries couldn't have been predicted. One might have said that due to his slight stature he was more likely to get injured, but there have been a number of other smaller, slender players over the years in the NFL that didn't have the problem with injuries that Smith had. I think one can fairly criticize Mac for some of his signings in FA, for failing to address the OL more significantly, for failing to keep a balanced perspective and use some high picks on the offense, and for missing on some of his picks.
Oh but they already decided they need a 10 level domed stadium with a bill at an estimated $2 bbbbbbillion. Clear roof, massive windows, and an eternal flame for crazy Al Davis. Mostly Public funding of course!
Spoke to some locals when I was out there. Happy to have the team. NOT happy to have the Raiders fan base traveling in from Oakland for the games.
