You don't care if he punches babies? A man of his size? I mean, a solid punch from Marshall would likely kill an infant. You're essentially condoning infanticide. I mean, I'm all for population control measures to a certain extent, but it just seems so cruel to punish the child.
Pffft. So typical. Every baby killer advocate goes to the "We could have prevented the Olsen Twins" argument when cornered. I figured you'd be more original than that.
99% of Marshal's deals are due to that slut/bitch of a g/f. get marshal. if he don't pan out, Plaxico Burress will be available. so simple.
He's only 26. One pick and thats it. Not sure if they want our 2nd round for him since its like the 60th pick. Marshall is well worth a first rounder (atleast his talent is). Now the package he brings along with that talent may reduce that to a 2nd or a 2nd plus like a 5th or something on the third day.
But that would mean we'd be picking at 29 and then not again until 124. I'm sorry, there are too many good players in this draft to waste 61 on a complete liability. Yes, he's immensely talented, but the risk is just too high for my liking; as I said before, if we were trying to improve from 3-13 then it would perhaps be a risk worth taking, but upsetting the stability of the side this season and losing one of our few picks at the same time? No thanks. I'd have been happy to pick him up in free agency where all we'd be risking is money. Not for picks or for players though.
Youre absolutely insane if you think the 60th pick of the draft or something for Bmarshall is too much of a risk. Thats a late 2nd rounder for a guy who has at least a 50% chance of being a top 5 receiver in the nfl for at least the next 5 years.
That's where we differ; based on his record so far, I believe his chances of being a top 5 receiver are considerably less than his chances of being incarcerated.
I see your point. My point is, we sure are giving away a 61st pick, but we are also getting a player who's talent is easily worth a top 10 pick. The risk involved in him is what reduces his trade compensation. Like I said, Im neutral on this
It has been proven time and again that just adding stars and hoping a coach can keep them together doesn't fucking work. If people actually think the Jets can bring in every selfish malcontent in the NFL, they are fooling themselves. Rex Ryan, no matter how player friendly, will not be able to hold everyone together and keep the ego's in check. I don't see why the Jets would want Marshall given the baggage he carries. The guy is poison, quit on his team and was suspended by the Broncos for arguably their most important game of the season. If you believe it was a result of a missed physical therapy session, I have a bridge to sell you. Word (no inside info) was that the teams captains came to McDaniels and basically proposed that. Those were his teamamtes that proposed that. WTF? You want that on the Jets? There were youtubes of this guy tanking practices, dropping balls and basically flipping off the staff and the team. I am not even going to bring up the killing of Williams and all the other off the field nonsense. If the Jets want to make a good trade, get a real slot WR. That would serve the team just fine. Shit they can possibly make LT a slot Wr if they draft another RB or something. I would rather see that then Marshall. Yes it is very unlikely and yes I am fully aware of that. Just floating it. I have been on many all star teams (not professional) and the common denominator that destroyed them..... ego's. This trade from a talent sense would be fine but from a adding yet another egotistical selfish pos to this team, sucks elephant balls. I am going on record and saying I don't want this punk on the team. I may be wrong but I just do not see how getting this poison, selfish team anmd coach wrecker is a good thing despite his enormous talent.......... no thank you. Further editing of my Edit for Cato: If it is for Cotchery, it is certainly a ridiculously bad trade. If it is for Edwards, not so much. Although, I would go so far to say, Edwards is much more likable than Marshall (originally Edwards). That just about says it all.................
I can't believe that anybody who has watched the Jets play over the last 4 years would be thinking about trading Jerrico Cotchery in a deal for Brandon Marshall. That's like saying "let's just hit ourselves in the face with a sledgehammer and see how many teeth we have left."
