For the record, I think Sanchez goes 25TDS and 15 INTs but 30/10 would be nice.

No, I'm viewing it as one of the "training wheels" that the team used to develop Sanchez.

30/10 in his second season might be enough to get me to drink myself into a coma as a celebration.

It's still a training wheel. It's still a way of dumbing down the playbook so he could better understand it.

if the result consistently yields a berth in the AFCC ..or better...the Superbowl. Do you really give a shit?

As long as Sanchez is steering this team in the right direction.....i don't give a fuck if his decision making comes from flash cards.

I didn't hear 50/50 pass/run from him. He said he would rather have a 3-headed monster at RB with Greene, Tomlinson and Leon rather than just Greene and Tomlinson. Never really heard of adding a HB to increase your passing total. If he opens up the passing more than I hope it means more looks to Keller. If it means what I think it means, I think the Jets are going to utilize more throws to the HBs on wheel routes and screens which are tantamount to a run in the West Coast system that Schottenheimer's offense is based on.

You were the one arguing against training wheels in the first place. I'm just pointing out the fact that, as far as we know, they are still there.

i never said he was on training wheels....you did.

Then you threw the color-coded scheme at me as your argument....and i never viewed that system as a detriment.

I know, that was why we started an argument over it.

When did I say it was a detriment? I said it was a training wheel. You inferred that I thought it was a detriment. And since when in the Hell are training wheels detriments?

the Jets need a pass rushing defensive lineman and another offensive lineman more than a WR. either would make the Jets better than adding Marshall if he came at the expense of adding one of them.

Defensive linemen aren't asked to pass rush in Rex's system...so no, we don't need one of those at all.

Fixed that for you. We definitely need a pass rusher on this team much, much more than we need another WR.

I'm not against adding a WR to this team but trading away for Marshall is not the best way to improve the Jets. If the BPA in the first round happens to be Demaryius Thomas or Golden Tate, someone the Jets could develop behind Cotch and Edwards in case Edwards cannot shake his dropping problems then I would love to see the Jets go for it. I would be pissed if they gave up a 1st or a 2nd and player for Marshall's arrest record.

I have been pro Marshall since the rumors began, a majority of the points made from both sides that do or do not want him make sense. The one thing that hasn't been mentioned though that could turn the tide....

I added Brandon Marshall in Madden and it increased my team overall by 4.....WOW :drunk:

Onto a serious note, I lived in Denver for work related reasons during the 2008 season trust me Marshall is not smoking defenders 50 yards downfield. Marshall isn't what I would call a "deep threat" like a Randy Moss or Steve Smith(CAR). He is more of a super Boldin who turns short-intermediate receptions into long gains because he is amazing after the catch. The guys is an absolute nightmare to cover on slant routes due to his tremendous size to shield off defenders so yes I think he can help in the short game effectively. He destroys CBs/LBs/S in the short-intermediate game. That's his bread and butter.

As for the Dirty Sanchez, I think it would benefit him tremendously to have a 6'4" 230 pound target to go along with throwing at Edwards' 6'3" 215 frame. I agree with the anti-Marshalls that the contract situation and the fact that he is one misstep away from a YEAR LONG suspension are huge negatives. He isn't just some bad ass in the NFL. We could lose him for an entire year which would throw a wrench into our super bowl plans. It is a tough decision to make. But for anyone DOUBTING whether he would be a tremendous help ON THE FIELD are focusing too much on his OFF FIELD ISSUES and not enough on his ON FIELD ABILITY. He is a legit top 5 WR in the NFL. He would be the best WR we have had in the past 20 years maybe even all the way back to Don Maynard if you feel he is better then Al Toon prior to him visiting concussion city.

I don't know how serious the Jets are about acquiring him. I think its a high risk/high reward scenario. Hypothetically speaking, we may win a super bowl and BM might get "Burresed" into a prison sentence. We may never reach the super bowl and he never gets in trouble and goes on to become a perennial probowler. Who knows we are all speculating on what may or may not happen. Based on his track record there is a VERY HIGH chance he bitch slaps his GF again. At the end of the day if one of those scenarios happened I'm sure everyone here would be ecstatic, especially if he is incarcerated AFTER we win the super bowl.

I think its important to know that, right now, this may be the best opportunity to win it all. People saying 2-3 years this team will be at its peak due to Sanchez. Shaun Ellis, Faneca, Woody and LT will be gone, Jenkins, Scott, Pace and even Pouha will be 33, J-Co and Leon will be 31, Edwards and Leonhard will be 30. I know we will have plenty of time to replace most of these players appropriately but that's A LOT of talent, especially on the defense side of the ball. We cannot miss often on picks(which we haven't so far) and we must make great decisions in FA(again we have). Unless Sanchez offsets all those talents leaving, aging and/or Tanny replaces them adequately this may be our peak right now.

I trust Tanny will make the right choice on Marshall and I will back him up 100% because the guy hasn't let us down yet so why start now?

It is pleasing to see such sense being talked. Please continue to do it until we can be sure that everyone is actually listening.
