Coleman Treadwell Doctson would be sick but please no Fuller If we trade down to the end of the 1st I could stomach him I guess
If the Jets draft him, does the rest of the team have to learn how to walk like an Egyptian? Seriously, he looks to have great, natural hands and high points the ball well. I had heard of him, but hadn't had time to check him out before. Thanks for posting the highlights. Based on those, I couldn't tell about his speed. In most clips he didn't look all that fast, but in others looked a good bit faster. I looked him up. Supposedly, he's more quick than fast, but gets to top speed immediately. He has hip tightness however, which would be of some concern. He looks like a decent prospect based on that limited viewing, but at least in terms of short term need, the Jets need OL or LBs much more at this point than they do another WR.
Hold strong to BPA. If that is a WR go for it. Zero reason to reach for need. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
That would probably be my only reservation. In that case I would try to trade back or take 2ndBPA lol Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
We need an edge rusher period. Look what the Broncos did to the patriots. You dont have to cover Gronk when Brady is running for his life. I believe we need to even trade up if necessary.
I'm a SC alum. Saw every game of this kid's career. I love him but I'm biased of course. You mention Randall Cobb - he is a lot like Cobb in that he is a converted QB that did everything in the SEC for a bottom barrel team. Same size too, shorter but very strong and solid and they both aren't afraid of contact. Where Cooper differs from Cobb is that he doesn't have his speed. Cobb is not a burner but he can be dangerous with the ball in his hands and has been known to beat people deep. Its hard to remember but Cobb actually didn't have all that much impact as a receiver right away - he made his impact as a returner. That's not Cooper. Another thing about Cooper is that while he can catch anything thrown at him, great hands, he struggles coming down with the contested catch. The so-called "catch radius" that people are realizing the importance of. That's not his game. He is a HELL of a competitor though who puts it all on the field. We will never have to question his toughness and desire. Also comes from a very regimented military family, so he's a disciplined individual. I would be happy if we got him in round 3 or something because he's a personal favorite but I dont think he'll ever be a team's number 1 option and he might take time. He needs to be in the slot full time. If he latched onto a team with a great QB and other options, like Randall Cobb did, he could have a Randall Cobb-like career though. I am hoping he doesn't go to NE because I see that as a perfect fit and I dont want to have to hate my favorite college player.
Many guys we'd look at.. hard to say who'd be on the board. Darron Lee, Taylor Decker, Ragland, Eli Apple, William Jackson, Spriggs. If we have a higher rating on an available WR than any players previously mentioned I'm in on the pick. I do think trading back could be wise there's alot of teams with extra picks who might give us a sweet deal to make sure they get their guy.
1) i like the kid from baylor. if we get a WR i want it to be a speedy, shifty player who can take a short pass and go a long way. not another big body. devin smith can stretch the field but we need game breakers. thats what our offense is missing. one of those desean jackson victor cruz types. 2) im all for going WR. to me its a bigtime need. marshal is 32. decker is 29 and once marhall goes decker is all we really got
Marshall is 32 with 1 year left on his deal after this upcoming season. Decker turns 30 this year has 2 years left on his contract beyond this season. If we can have viable replacements for both we part ways and save $15 million. Also we run a ton of 3-4 WR sets. If it's the BPA, I have no problems with taking a WR. The only positions I would think are off limits are: RB, DT, DE, SS, FS, K and P.
If Treadwell is there (doubtful he would be) I would be really tempted to want to take him. He's the only guy worth it in that slot though. Doctson and Coleman are decent options but not for us right now.
That's a pretty good assessment.....He's definitely more quick than fast but I would disagree about the hip tightness. He can cut on a dime and change speeds really well. He's basically like a RB/WR hybrid to be honest....I would love him in the 3rd along with LB or OL in the 1st and 2nd but he might go higher So am I man LOL...I was screaming for Alshon Jeffrey over Hill a few years ago and it still hurts I think Cooper is just as quick as Cobb and definitely has more power running the ball. Cobb is probably faster straight line but yeah there are many similarities, most of them that you mentioned I also mentioned Jarvis Landry because I could see Cooper having the same type of impact in the NFL mainly working out of the slot.....He would kill it with Decker and Marshall here IMO and we are missing not only a deep threat but someone to work underneath as well. I know Decker did a lot of that but Cooper could fit in as a pure YAC guy I also have had nightmares about him going to NE because he would be great in that offense...I really hope they pick another WR
Exactly. If WR is the BPA at 20 you take him no question. If a team like the Vikings back in 98 (IIRC) drafted by need instead of BPA they would of passed on Randy Moss with already having Cris Carter and Jake Reed at WR and would of never turned a position of strength already to domination. Same with the current Rams drafting rushers/linemen when already having some, or the Giants a few years back, etc. BPA is the way to go without question. That is the most effective way to build a team IMO. Sent from my SM-N915T using Tapatalk
