Let's not forget that the Jets have not won back to back games all season. There's a reason for that and it's not in the realm of freaky stats, it's in the realm of measurable stats.

It's so hard for me to envision a scenario where the Jets beat the Panthers this weekend.

Carolina has a ferocious defense and a talented, balanced offense. Plus this game is on the road.

They have a ferocious front 7 and a so so zone based secondary that can be exploited.

There offense can be taken out of rhythm if you can get to Cam and prevent him from making big plays with his legs.

Can the jets get the pressure and can geno make quick decisions. If he decides to sit back and pat the ball he will be in for along day.

I guess U have not been watching the games the last few weeks because if U have you would know that the "ferocious front 7" you mentioned in your post has gone so far south that they have totally disappeared from the scene at least thru the Oak game

IMO, Carolina and Seattle are neck-and-neck for best defense in the league.

This game will look similar to the Bengals game. Or, if we are lucky, the Tennessee game.

The Ravens still have to play in Detroit and against New England and Cincinnati and would have to lose 2 of those.
The Dolphins have to play the Patriots and we get them in Week 17 so we control destiny over them.
The Chargers play the Broncos this week.
It's completely feasible that if we win out we will get the 6 seed. Unfortunately, the odds of us winning out are about 0. Everyone is talking about how daunting the coming game against the Panthers is, but can you guys imagine what Josh Gordon is going to do to us next week? With the way Cro is playing, he might catch for 300 yards, and that's hardly an exaggeration.

Josh Gordon has put up historic numbers these last four weeks, and the Cleveland Browns are 0-4 in that span.

Not saying we d beat them or anything, but the Browns are obviously beatable. So are the jets of course

I think the most likely result this weekend is a Jets loss by less than 10 points. I think Rex is going to back everybody off and play a cover scheme with 5 DB's on the field for most of the game. I think he's going to put a spy on Cam Newton and rush 4 guys most of the game.

I'm guessing Cam Newton has a shakier game than normal but the Panthers overall talent will win the game. I don't do scores usually but this one smells like 24-17 Panthers.

I haven't even let myself go there. I can't really think of any reason why Carolina will not blow this team out. This is the worst possible matchup for the Jets as Carolina's strengths are the Jets weaknesses and it's on the road where the Jets have been horrible.

If they somehow win I will be whip sawwed into suddenly turning extremely optimistic though.

A stunner over the Panthers would be lovely. It's Josh Gordon who worries me, single handily.

There is a certain irony to being in a playoff situation where the team essentially has to win every game to get in. This means you have to look only at the game in front of you, with the silent hope in the back of your mind that winning all of them gets it done. It's kind of disconcerting.

Something that I read this morning, Cimini said that the Jets only need the Dolphins to lose the last game of the season against the Jets, assuming the Jets win out. Apparently, the Jets have the tiebreaker, which is record against common opponents.

I thought that the Dolphins had the tiebreaker, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I thought the Jets had to rely on a win from the Gronk-less Pats or the Bills. If Cimini is correct, I feel like every scenario is likely to happen, except for the Jets winning the remaining three.

Remember those days when we never had to worry about an opponents #1 WR?

Afraid this is going to be our "Super Bowl" and the Jets are going to play the best game they have all year, only to come out and play like they are in the "Pro Bowl" against the Browns.

    Sigh
