No, no way the Jets deserve a playoff spot. The problem is, as of right now there's only five teams in the AFC that deserve a playoff a spot.
2009 we were 4-6 at this point on a 3 game losing streak. Who cares about whether we "deserve" it, its about wins and losses and right now we have done enough to "deserve" it. That might change next week but as of now we deserve it.
This loss takes the Jets from in the drivers seat for that last wild card spot to one of many teams with a chance to get that last playoff spot. With that said, the Jets have a very favorable schedule and if they would stop alternating wins and losses, you could still call them the favorite.

Colts (who had the chance to go undefeated) and Bengals barely played their starters the last 2 games, so take that for what it's worth. Still....we sure did show up in the playoffs.
Yeah its really getting ridiculous now. After the New England and Saint game everyone is saying playoffs, after every loss they say this team is horrible. Record is the only thing that matters.

This team isn't going anywhere with Geno, the guy sucks. The Jets could easily be 3-7 right now and maybe worse without a very good defense.
