I think he's the better option for us then Hunter going there and being some big hit at WR. I don't want to root against Hunter succeeding either.

I also generally like the idea of them sticking to the Mac Jones Developmental Plan, and baking in as many "it's not Maye's fault the 2025 offense looks terrible again" excuses as they can heading in to a draft we'll likely being going hard at QB in. Since both teams likely end up picking at the very top of the draft.

Well, Russ going to NY likely screws this morning's optimism take up.

Like they ain't drafting Sanders after signing both Russ and Jameis, right?

If Shadeur falls to 7, you have to take him. Period. End of statement.

For starters Deion isn't going to sign off on that.

But even if he did Sanders is not close enough of a can't miss QB talent for it to be an end of statement imo. Pump the brakes there lol. WE ain't talking about a guy anybody is confusing with having Josh Allen type upside here, and hence why he would even be falling to 7. Which in Jetsville just makes the probability of failure all the much higher.

Sick of hearing that. Deion and Aaron Glenn played the same position in the same era. They are probably friends for Gods sake, he’s not going to embarrass Aaron Glenn with a stunt like that

With so many early teams needing a QB, if he drops, is not that great of a sign. I don’t want a QB controversy on day one of a new regime. I’ll pass and beef up the lines. Plenty of opportunities next year.

I'd be guessing he cares a lot more about his kid's career prospects then anything of that nature.

You don't have to like hearing it for it to be true either.

I wouldn't do it. Cam is the only really good prospect, and he is going #1. Just because it's a weak QB class, doesn't mean we have to reach for Sanders at 7. He might as well fall to 7, because he is not a top 10 guy normally. Short, not overly athletic, not great arm, older guy. If he drops I hope someone else trades up for him, we drop a few spots and collect extra assets and still get a starter for the team.

Interesting question. With their asses on a hot seat, probably not. They will be able to get Carter or Hunter, this has to be the play. Not to mention #3 for Sanders I think is a major reach. That is why it makes sense they got two decent veteran QBs in free agency. Who knows what happens here, but my hope is that Sanders is there at 7, and we trade back and get a good package for someone else to get him.

Ironically if I was to dig up my posts from 2 offseasons the NYG are going to end up doing what I wanted to see my Jets do pre-Rodgers.

No massive resource dump trade target. No supposed magic wand fix kid out of the draft. No looking more then 1 season ahead. No more built in excuses at the end of the year on why things are still not looking better. Just pluck 2 capable of having at least runs of success QBs like Winson + X out of the free agency on cheap deals, who clearly upgrade what you had before imo, and have them ultimately compete for the job. Then show me the overall offensive improvement in 2025.

Prove you are even capable of taking the baby step forward at this point. The team that can't find any success with Russ/Winston at QB isn't gonna be the one to develop the Sanders kid into much of anything.

I honestly think NO might be the only top 10 team left that would potentially be in on Sanders if NYG are out. And even that is more a "if he's still there" level of interest after they just did that Carr restructure.

a controversy could be avoided. Fields is on a short term deal, Sanders sits and develops

Don’t count out the Browns to pull a Browns move and take sanders at 2. They traded for Pickett who is a very similar QB.

If we go OL I just hope that the Jets for once don’t buy into the hype and take the best tackle in the draft by a mile in Will Campbell. The arm length was never an issue for him. I’d instantly put him at LT and put Olu at RT.

Will Johnson might be the best prospect in the draft and nobody is talking about this kid. It’s crazy…

First of all, Deion said that the franchises on his list he would not name publicly, it would be done behind the scenes and the public would not know about it. Second, even if it was public which it’s not, I don’t think Deion is going to throw his own sons career and life in the gutter because he’s afraid to embarrass someone who “played in his era.” His priority is making sure his son lands with a competent franchise above all else and he’s not going to do anything to jeopardize that.
