I find any and all comparisons to Z Wilson for a QB completely irrelevant to anything the Jets are trying to do moving forward. Words like, Better, much better or significantly better than Zach is not a criteria for our next QB. We need to steer away from bringing his name up in this context.
Let's not rewrite history. Zach was rated highly as a general consensus. Here are actual rankings by ESPN: Ward: 90 https://www.espn.com/nfl/draft/bestavailable Zach: 93 https://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2021/...1-nfl-draft-rankings-top-prospects-scouts-inc Sure, he didn't work out, but the fact is, he was a highly rated prospect who busted. That does not mean Cam/Dart/Sanders who are lower rated will also bust, but I personally would punt on a QB in this draft as it does seem pretty weak. I would not trade up for Cam and Sanders and would not spend #7 overall for Dart. I guess if Cam or Sanders are there at 7, we would have to consider, but still... I would prefer to improve other areas of the roster with 7th overall.
This means nothing. It certainly doesn't mean either will be good or bad. It's just media drivel. The consensus was that they were all wrong about Zach Wilson... He never should've been a consideration as a first round talent. Let alone hyped the way he was. I'll never take "espn" as a reliable scouting source. Ever. There are only a few that I actually respect. They sure AF ain't one of mine.
It doesn’t make your analysis any less retarded dude. He was a trash prospect who beat up on Texas State and UTSA in a weird pandemic year. I can’t believe it’s fucking STILL being defended.
Again, these are rankings AFTER Zach’s Senior year. Please find me one article having Zach in the conversation of the NFL draft prior to his senior year. I knew who Cam Ward was going into this past year. I knew he was a top prospect and the concensus was he’s be in the mix for the top QB spot as long as he balled out. Zach was a no one that was in jeopardy of being benched going into his final season. He was not a top NFL prospect, he was a one hit wonder.
well to be fair Cam Ward had a zillion college seasons to become a top prospect. Zach Wilson was 21 when the Jets drafted him. When Ward was 21 he was a questionable transfer out of something called Incarnate Word (Div 2)
I'll bet BYU could have beaten Incarnate as part of their Covid season; surely they couldn't have been as good as Coastal Carolina. Or could they?
