So now you're also part of the morality police?

We're sports fans with opinions, and most of us don't see the entire field through rosey colored glasses. I'll be dammed if you're going to tell me what I can and can't say about a player.

Move on if you don't like it, pretty simple concept, no?

I'm not into bashing Chad but I am into believing $22 million for 16 games shows some decent gratitude. Hence, we owe Chad Pennington nothing as far as I'm concerned. We're even, and that's the way the FO looked at it too, when they offered him the $1 million. We should have stuck to our guns on that because we need to move on, no lack of gratitude meant.

Like I said before, you are entitled to your own opinion and I respect that. I just personally don't feel like the guy should be insulted for injuries he has no control over.

    He Chad been overpaid? Yes.

    Is that his fault? No.

He has no control over his injuries, and if someone was to offer you a $64 million contract, would you not accept it? What was he supposed to say, "No, please give me less money???"

Of course not, only a nitwit would interpret what I just said in that way. And you're certainly not a nitwit, are you?

You insist that people around here "show a tiny bit of gratitude." The gratitude's already been shown pal... and it ain't so tiny, it's $22 million worth. So you can take your holier-than-thou "show a little gratitude" and stick it where the sun don't shine. KOZ can show gratitiude or not show gratitude, it doesn't matter very much to me or anyone else around here. Everyone's entitled to their opinion, even if they're wrong, like you are by insisting people post with a "tiny bit of gratitude." Hahahahahhahaaa... are you aware of how comical this looks?

Wow. I see you're alittle too stressed out over this, my friend...

Like I've said a few times already, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I am not claiming to be "holier-than-thou", nor did I in any way suggest that I am.

You sure seem very sour about Chad's money. Why do you really care how much he's been paid anyway? You are not the owner, and it's not your money, so I don't see why you're so bent out of shape over it.

I don't really see how posting that people should show at least a tiny bit of gratitude is comical at all. The guy led us to two playoff appearances, within two missed field goals of an AFC championship game, and regardless of achievements, he gave Jets fans desperately needed hope when we needed it the most. The guy is driven purely by heart, and he put his own health and well-being on the line for all of us.

Showing a tiny bit of gratitude to a player of this character is far from comical. Instead, I find insulting and belittling a player for injuries he had no control over highly comical and embarrasing.

You seem to have a penchant for role-reversal, wherein it's now me who's "bent out of shape?" Laughable, particularly in light of the fact that it's been you thoughout this entire thread who's had his panties in an uproar over accepting KOZ's dissing of Chad. Talk about being bent out of shape, it wasn't me or anyone else around here who's been insisting on everyone "showing a little gratitude." You have a gift, my friend.

"Better leave the explaining to me, Mate. Theatrics might come across as a bit... cheezy."

Uproar? I am simply stating my opinion, and I personally have not insulted one person on this board. Maybe you can refresh my memory, but wasn't it YOU that called ME a nitwit and suggested that I wear panties???

Show me one example of this so-called "uproar."

It's pretty obvious that you are the one getting all uptight and emotional about this.

I agree with you. He is a good QB. The only thing "now" is we have lost too many seaons with him being out due to injury. He has had bad luck. Coming off of your 2nd major arm surgery, we can't put all of our eggs in one basket anymore. We will, most likely, choose another QB at #4 or above and if Penny is still around whether to start or backup, great! But,if we can draft a "prospective franchise QB" to move on, we will.

I'm with ya man... you may as well call me an anti Pennington. I'm against him getting on the field in any capacity except waving his little towel.

How am I making this sexual? You are the one that originally said it. I was merely pointing out the remarks that you made word for word.

I don't really know what you have against me. I'm just stating my opinion, and it is completely reasonable. I really don't understand what you are trying to turn this into.

Yeah ur right, we dont owe him anything but i dont understand what the man did to deserve all the hostility and hatred that has come his way. he has done nothing but try his best for the organization and due to injury he has been limited in gms playes (to say the least), but while he is on the field he is a winner and a productive player, and now some of you act as if the whole NFL figured him out. O the NFL has his number. Please, the man has a 91 career qb rating and a 90 something rating in 2004 even tho playing half the season with a torn rotator cuff. I dont think all the defenses have figured him out as he still has managed to torch some of them
