He put a lot of effort into it. If you think it’s wrong that’s fine but until you put the same amount of thought into a reply you sound like a fool. I don’t agree w everything he said but I appreciate his post here tbh.
I don't think his reply is anything to do with what was written in the analysis post and more to do with him not admitting he was wrong on Baker after a similar lengthy thread last season. Of course, it could be resolved by everybody forgetting about Baker as he isn't our QB or SolidGoldBowles now known as GasedandConfused saying "you not what guys I was utterly wrong about Baker and he has shocked me at how well he has performed and we can move on from this now"
I put lots of “effort” into watching prospects every year. It’s a fun hobby. He put a shit ton of effort into posts that blasted Mayfeild for being slightly off on 60 yard passes and bashing his accuracy, which oddly was his best physical trait coming out. I don’t knock him for his flawed opinions. I do for when it was obvious that Mayfeild was having one of the best all time rookie QB seasons that he came back with excuses that he’s “ throwing to wide open receivers” or “the receivers make the plays after the catch” .. yea? Welcome to a sport called football that we follow. You don’t take plays and stats away from the QB because receivers make plays. No one takes anything from Montana because Rice and Taylor are great, it’s a flawed reasoning. I openly admitted last season that both Jackson and Allen, while still flawed, looked way better than I thought they could have year one. They both have a long way to go but showed something last year I thought would take them much longer to process. His issue is still that he can’t admit he was wrong. It’s childlike in its stupidity and I’ll continue to call him out on it. If you want to play the part of being a amateur draft fan then man the fuck up abit realize and admit that you are wrong. Until you can do that your “analysis” will be tainted with bias and often very wrong.
I also think part of the issue for him being unable to admit he was wrong was a pivot to “well he had great players and a great line propping him up”. Go read his most recent mea culpa. Same thing. Baker’s success had little to do with his talents and more to do with his line, his playmakers, the bad teams he played blahblahblah. Still can’t admit he was wrong.
It's because of the supporting cast. At least he acknowledges some of his errors. I'll admit I've been wrong on Rosen so far. I thought he was the most pro ready QB and that we should've taken him, but he has a long way to go after last year and might be on a new team soon.
I fucking hate Tom Brady, as all jet fans should. I’ll never take away an ounce of his greatness because he played for perhaps the best coach to ever grace the league. Saying anything else is just ... dumb. If he wants to be seen as anything more than a guy who makes long war and peace type posts on prospects, he really needs to step back and learn to re-evaluate his innital opinions. Hell I do it all the time on guys before the draft let alone after. If a poster or a podcast gives me info I disagree with my first reaction is to go back and rewatch things to see if they are right and I am wrong. It’s not about how much work you put into a post, but how you react to new information that makes one an interesting and well rounded draftnik
We were both wrong on Rosen. I had him as 2b to Mayfeilds 2a with Sam as QB1. He didn’t look ready, at all. Sure the line was a mess but ours was as well and Sam showed the ability to make plays despite it. Rosen is looking more like an Andy Dalton, Matt Ryan type. Given the line and talent he can make the reads and throws, but he’s not a put the team on his back and carry them type of guy.
Hey SBG good to have you back and really nice to have you finally give your mea culpa and you recognizing and admitting how truly wrong you were about how really really good Baker Mayfield is as an NFL QB. Oh what, this multiple 50,000 character diatribe isn't a mea culpa. This is more of you dumping on Baker giving EVERYONE credit for his success and diminishing his opponents just like you did when he was at Oklahoma. Mea culpa my ass. You hated him for irrational reasons and you cannot accept he's a good NFL QB and you were wrong. Exactly. Nonsense.
If Darnold had the season that Mayfield had, I'm sure he wouldn't nitpick all of his stats. By his logic, Peyton Manning should be penalized for throwing to Harrison, Wayne, and Thomas during his career. Brady's 50 TD season shouldn't count because 23 of them went to Moss. It's easy to throw TD's his way because of his speed and height.
For the love of God... try spelling Mayfield right and maybe lend yourself a shred of credibility. If it was one time okay, I wouldn't be the spelling police but you want to try and call out this guy for not admitting his mistakes (in your eyes), when you can't put I before E in about 4 separate posts.
Chelsea Handler, Barbara Streisand, Bryan Cranston, Lena Dunham, Snoop, Key, Whoopi, Miley Cyrus were all going to move to Canada and it’s been 2 years. Just because you say something with indignation doesn’t mean shit.
