Are you still sportin the George Foster Fro? Honestly it's shit like this that makes me wish I still lived in the NYC area. I fucking hate living in a city that half heartedly supports it's college team and has no pro teams. 10 years and I am ready to get out of here.
boy can the mets organization fuck up a wet dream.what a mess that was on tuesday night.no coordination and lack of communication. i arrived at 530pm to shea and got on a 300 foot long line leading into a tent.the players went into the tent about 545pm-6pm somewhere around their.the line moved very slowly.and announcement was made that only one item could be autographed per player. ok sounds reasonable.then 10 minutes later another announcement is made if you would like to see the trophy you can get off the line and go to another line on the left. i finally arrive to the tent @ 615pm and now im informed after waiting 45 minutes that the line im on is for the 69 jets(schmidt,beverley & boozer).their is a separate line for the 80's jets(lyons,walker & buttle) which i would have to wait on under the tent that wraps around to see them. so i continue to wait with my mother and 2 6year olds who want nothing to do with the jets anymore and want hot dogs soda and to watch batting practice and catch a home run. the line for the trophies was closed at 630pm.it was the 69 super bowl trophy and the world series trophy also.also at 630pm they finally announce the players are leaving in 3 minutes for an on field ceremony and no more autographs are allowed.i immediately start a big fuss and that this whole thing was bullshit. the man than says the jets players will come back after the first pitch to finish signing but you havce to stay in line and miss the beginning of the game. i again start yelling at the man with a megaphone and tell him what part of my body he can kiss. i leave the line and watch the first inning and we go up 3-0. i return to the tent to find out the jets players decided NOT to return. Mets personall people than handed out free tickets to todays game.i again complain about the free tickets and they gave me friday upper deck box seats for friday july 25 against the cardinals. when i have time i am calling the mets and complaining some more.i bought tickets b/c it was jets night.i sat in a freakin bleacher seat where i could not see the highlights of past jet moments or meet the players thanks mets world class organization AGAIN
SNY did a terrible job as well. I taped the game hoping to see some interviews and highlights and all we got was a quick interview w/ Wesley Walker and they showed the opening pitch ceremony on replay. No highlights of the Jets at Shea but they did show a million replays of the Giants in NY. It's only been 50 years since they left and it was Jets night but show old NY Giants clips w/o showing any old Jets clips. SNY must have access to it since they partner w/ the Jets, it was a terrible job but then again all the Jets shows on SNY are terrible unfortunately.
