-Cute that you had to go back to the 90’s to find successful OTs who switched teams.
-Not sure why you’re bringing up “lateral quickness” as the Jets didn’t have a zone blocking scheme in the 90’s.
-I’m not the one who said “I can name dozens of OTs who showed success on new teams in new schemes”. You named 2…. From the 90’s… who didn’t change schemes.

I’m not your mom so I won’t lie and say “I’m proud of you”. I’m more like your dad and I’ll honestly say “once again you’ve disappointed me”.

Since you love your PFF numbers so much, I looked up some for you.
Morgan Moses 1st year as a starting tackle in the NFL: 54.4

George Fant 1st year as a starting tackle in the NFL: 61.6

But MM rookie year was a long time ago so I won’t give it too much weight. Let’s look at his 4 most recent years:
2020: 80.6 (enough to give the madden players some excitement)
    2019: 65.2
    2018: 64.4
    2017: 67.2

Now I see why JD didn’t give up a 6th to lock him in as a Jet.

I’m not saying you’re the dumbest person on this board (I’ve read Ouchy’s posts) but you should seriously stay in your lane. Leave numbers and thinking to other people. As Covid proved to everyone: burger flippers and seamless delivery men are important too.

Out of interest, people are getting fitter in all sports, Athletes are lasting longer, the three tennis legends are all still going and winning majors, Golfers even footballers who in the modern game are running further, faster and longer than ever before but more of them are lasting out until 35+, if I had more knowledge of Rugby I could cite that, as that is closest to the NFL.

So why are people still done by 30 in the NFL, are they just too big in the body that they are fucking their joints and other internals, causing huge wear and tear?

As you say, players like Gore and Fitzgerald are very few and far between.

IMO they have just become too big, like Becton 360lbs and running under 5 seconds in the 40 is just unnatural lol

I hear it said that players coming out of college 'need to put 60lb on' for his position etc maybe in the interests of health this has to stop and of course, better peds testing right from college onwards may help on that score as well.

Then again, maybe the players are just so rich now that they can't wait until they retire, and at 30 they will have had their second money-making contract fulfilled?

I didn't have to go back to the 90's just an NY fan who wanted to give two Jets examples and Damien Woody wasn't a 1990's example, Kevin Mawae was a 1990's example yes, however
Damien Woody was a 2008-2010 example.

I never mentioned lateral quickness for the 1990's Mawae I only mentioned Lateral quickness for Damien Woody (2009-2010).

Because remember the Jets implemented a Zone run blocking scheme come 2009-2010 (see below)?

    https://www.nj.com/jets/2009/12/new_zone_scheme_is_opening_doo.html

"Evolution of outside zone runs turned NY Jets into anomaly in pass-first league"

Offensive line coach Bill Callahan’s decision to expand the team’s zone-blocking repertoire this season with more outside zone plays — linemen running as wide as the tight end’s position on the field — has paid dividends.

Bill Callahan (2008-2011) and Damien Woody flourished in a zone blocking scheme.

How can any of us hold any weight in Moses's Rookie season (54.4) when he only played in 8 games with only 1 start?

In order for a fair comparison it's better to look at each and every season, for both players; in order to avoid PFF cherry picking.

    Morgan Moses:
    2014: 54.4 (1 start).
    2015: 75.2.
    2016: 76.8.
    2017: 67.2.
    2018: 64.4.
    2019: 65.2.
    2020: 80.6.

    Vs.

    George Fant:
    2016: 47.2.
    2017: 0.00 (ACL).
    2018: 74.0.
    2019: 62.2.
    2020: 61.6.

Outside of one season for Fant (2018) it appears as if Moses @ his worst is still better than Fant @ his best.

Fant has only 1 year as a starting OT. Why would I post years where he played the 6th OL or TE? Are we considering moving him to TE?

Only a blithering idiot would do that….

Of course I want you on the clock. You said dozens and you’ve kinda given me 3. Not ones that changes schemes but close enough.

3 down, 21 to go. You can do it!!

    Ps. “I’m a Jets fan”
-the guy who said “you can’t name one team Fitzpatrick made better”.

Everyone can agree you’re an idiot. Not everyone agrees you’re a Jets fan.

Not yet. The Jets made an offer and Morgan’s people let it leak to see if they can get a better offer. He’ll probably sign with someone by the end of the week.

@KingRoach do your thing man. You're competitive NY sports fans are awesome. Do your thing man It's Jets fans like you who drive a statistics man like myself to look deeper into stats because with no statistics there is no HOF and I always told myself as just a kid since around like 1993-1995 that if my team ever had players with good stats maybe we'd have a lot of wins. My 1st favorite RB was Adrian Murrell I guess i can say I liked his stats so now you know who you're talking with.

I just wanna see us win so food could taste better on Sunday's with the ppl we love I want the Jets to win more for Joe Namath and the 1968-1969 legends than I do for myself because I just want to see Joe Willie White Shoes Namath dance on Broadway just 1 more time (and if we're blessed multiple times @ parades in Manhattan).

Namath already won a super bowl. I want the Jets to win one for my enjoyment as well as all the fans who have suffered with this team. I don't what the hell you are talking about.

Compared to the Jets last season.

Certainly too soon to say on the players, but likely improvements at RB, WR, and OL should enable them to go run heavy and protect Wilson early on. If it works, they’ll stick with it.

I can’t see any way that they’ll run less, the exception being Wilson is just too damn good not to throw a lot.

Let’s start the LFL: Light Weight Football League.

Nobody over 200 pounds. Weigh ins before every game.

Teams are named after crappy politicians and can only be sponsored by “as seen on tv” items.

    Kevin Mawae (Seahawks).
    Alan Faneca (Steelers).
    Damien Woody (Lions).
    Jumbo Elliott (Giants).

4 down only 20 to go.

This is getting pretty petty I'm just trying to show you (with only Jets examples) that you claiming Moses is the next Nate Solder isn't the only example out there to twist and spin.

Any links to these rumors just being a leak from out of Morgan's corner? We're always getting played.
