there are a few things to look at during a draft when evaluating WRs. the numbers don't always go how it is expected. Remember when fields was 1B to to Tlaw's 1A then got passed up by wilson but was still the consensus 3rd best QB, but SF liked lance better and fields went 4th. it happens a lot. Moore was the consensus 4th best WR in the draft behind waddle, smith, and chase. Gettleman opted for toney who everyone had ranked lower then moore but him, which he does a lot. he's known for reaching on players he loves. just like when he took kelvin benjamin in the 2nd when he was a 4th rounder at best. he loved him so much he just signed him as a giants GM to play TE. shit happens. Balt passed on moore but they wanted a bigger target for their offense.

I agree with your Chase evaluation. I had him 3rd behind Smith/Waddle. Where were you during draft season? We went over these numbers for months for both the QBs and WRs - and had endless circular debates. Still, I wouldn't have taken Moore over Chase. But I get your logic.

I think Jacksonville is going to deeply regret passing on Elijah Moore (for Trevor Lawrence) and for a CB at that kind of how like I was frustrated after passing up on Dalvin Cook only to watch Viking celebrate the pick while we went Defense again.

    QB; Trevor Lawrence (1st).
    RB: Travis Etienne (1st).
WR: Elijah Moore (1st pick of 2nd).

I'm pulling for De'Vonta Smith too can't take anything away from him Alabama or not because there's been some amazing NFL WR's from Bama' and DeVonta Smith ranks King Kong of them all.

    #1 All-Time in Receptions (235).
    #1 All-Time in Receiving yards (3,965)
    #1 All-Time in TD Receptions with 46 (15 more than #2).

    #1 All-Time Alabama WR.

It's intriguing because we've never once witnessed an NFL #1 WR @ only 160lbs but if anyone can do it why not the Bama legend.

I pointed out 5 WRs went before Moore as evidence that the league didn't rank him as highly as you claimed because he was viewed as a slot guy. We've gone over that too many times.

Rice went 3rd because in 1985 WRs were practically mugged and teams worried that Rice might be too light. Sound familiar? Bill Walsh actually traded up from 28 to grab Rice at 16. Fun fact, we were one of the teams that passed on Rice for Al Toon. A great Jet in his own right.

Kevin Dyson went ahead of Randy Moss.
4 WRs went ahead of Justin Jefferson.

None of that matters anymore man all that matters after getting drafted is production and how they're playing right now like how awesome have they all looked during their Pro Days, OTAs and mini-camps I don't know I just know Elijah's been lighting it up on fire they're telling us people are telling us they've never seen anything this before from a Jet.

Who's to say what happened to Ole' Miss kids A.J Brown (2nd round) D.K Metcalf last pick of the 2nd round isn't happening again x3 for Elijah Moore.

You can't judge Moore by what happens in 2021. He might catch the perfect glide and do very well but NFL history is full of WR's who weren't particularly good year one and then took off once they got their feet on the ground.

The reality of the NFL is that WR is a solitary position and every CB and S a rookie WR faces in the NFL is better than anybody he has ever gone against before. The reality of the NFL is that every DC and opposing coaching staff is better at shutting down one guy on the outside than anybody the rookie WR has ever gone against. The reality of the NFL is that the QB throwing to the rookie WR is less likely to just throw the ball up for grabs and let him go get it than every other QB he has worked with before.

That's why WR is the second toughest position to play as a rookie in the NFL. The only tougher position is QB.

This would be a tremendous upgrade accordingo PFF "the 6-foot-6 330-pound Moses had a strong 2020 season and rated as the 18th best tackle" while Fant graded out as 64th and Moses's run blocking grade ranked 7th amongst all OTs.

He'll not only help keep Zach Wilson's jersey clean but Michael Carter will become electric running left behind Becton/Vera-Tucker and then also having one of the strongest run blocking OT's mauling for him when running right I'm just hoping this isn't smoke and other team swoops in and plays the Jets again because it'll become disheartening to get our hopes up like this.

I absolutely agree that is prudent to have a decent backup at tackle even if you have to overpay. I have yet to see Edoga do squat, and he is the first guy I would cut if they sign Moses.

I’ll be glad when he’s gone so I don’t even have to see his name spelled out.

From what I read, McDermott has looked better this spring and Douglas likes him. Edoga holds the distinction of the highest OL ever drafted by Mike MacCagnan (late third round) in 5 years (and has not shown anything to date) . Douglas already has used two first rounders on the OL. About damn time someone running the jets realized the need for a decent OL.

mcdermott is worse though. again not gospel but PFF had mcdermott at 54.2 and edoga at 61.3
edoga is a bust for sure. as a 3rd rounder he should eb starting now and not be a fringe roster player. I doubt we retain him after this year, but he's still better to keep around the mcdermott

Mcdermott was put in at right and left tackle and even guard in his time here. He is a backup but he is a versatile backup. Edoga can only play right tackle and hes bad at it
