Amen brother  lotta people are sleeping on Josh Moore, including some draft gurus, but that kid can ball
What?? Are you even seriously listening to yourself? I hate to pull a Mr. E here, but that's just foolish. Out and out, completely and totally wrong. That's a failure of a post. Whatever website you saw that on should immediately be shut down. Haden is the best cornerback prospect in this draft. If you don't think he's going to be the best pro corner, fine, whatever, but don't knock the guy for things that he has no issues with. The kid is dynamic when the ball is in the air, and he knows how to play the position as well as any corner I've seen in a few years. He was at Florida what Darrelle Revis was for the Jets, he was simpler better than everyone else on the field. I've seen the kid bait quarterbacks, close like a rocket and get an interception like he was a 10 year NFL vet and you're going to tell me he has no instincts? So, according to your past few posts in this thread, he's both too slow of foot and too slow in the head to be good, yet he still somehow emerged from the season rated as the best corner prospect in years? That's some amazing stuff. People here are so fickle sometimes it's insane. They forget that some guys are top level prospects for a reason. Just because some of us like to hype kids like Kyle Wilson and DMC doesn't mean they're better than Joe Haden. I love McCourty, I've seen him play just about every game of his career, most in person, and he is not a better player than Joe Haden. Simply stated, if the Jets were sitting at #29 and took Kyle Wilson, Devin McCourty, or Perrish Cox over Joe Haden I would put my foot through my television.
Not that its the wisest decision, but likely the only way we can move up would be by packaging Rhodes, or next years draft picks. I realize no one wants to see us move up because we just don't have the ammo and we need to start stockpiling picks rather than giving them away, but its all hypothetical. Like I said I doubt either guy escapes the top 10-12 picks.
Is it plausible (and/or smart, practical) if we choose two DBs in this draft? If we were to take, say, Wilson at #29, then later on take Arenas (or Rolle, although, I'm not sure when he's projected to go), then we'd have a solid, young group (with Lowery) behind Revis. I don't think we have the luxury of selecting two DBs, but I feel it's such a need that it's more of a necessity than a luxury. Furthermore, if we sign A. Thomas, which appears very likely, we'd have depth at OLB that wouldn't need to be addressed in April. So aside from the trenches, we could heavily target CB and add two good players.
one solid corner will allow everything to fall into place. lowery and strickland are great #3's, if we can draft a #2 then we can allow those guys to be great
Honestly, it would not be the worst possible thing to happen, but thats before we see what is goign to happen via free agency. When/if Lito, Jones, and Feely sign elsewhere we may be able to fill some of the gaps in. That will have a huge impart on our needs come draft time. As things are #2 CB, youth on the Dline and Oline, A rush linebacker, and Top end weapons for Sanchez would be the needs. Place your own value on each.
Not necessarily. We moved up 11 spots to take Revis years ago (25 to 14) and that cost us a #2 pick (and some change, we swapped a 5th for a 6th). 11 spots from 29 is 18, so it's possible we can move up to something like 16-18 range if a team wants to move back. We're not going to have much in terms of quantity, but boy do we get quality. With his 40 time, it's possible he'll drop out of the top 10. Remember, this is a loaded draft class. Teams have a lot of good choices out there and I wouldn't be shocked if they kept passing on him for other needs.
I suppose, but Tanny is a smart guy he knows this is a rare draft class. I really hope we trade down a few spots and pick up a third rounder at least. There's quality players all over the board in this draft
