I'd give them a lowball offer for him, but that's it. Call it revenge for the Dewayne Robertson deal where we basically got nothing in return
Also: "Paul Domowitch of the Philadelphia Daily News reports at least two teams -- the Ravens and the Jets -- are keeping a close eye on the Eagles' wide receiver situation. The Eagles have an excess of wealth there right now. There's a good chance they'll deal one of their wide receivers -- perhaps Reggie Brown -- before the final roster cutdown" Reggie Brown??? whooooaaaaa. i've got to sit down, i'm too excited.
yes, yes, 100 times yes. lets save all the draft picks we have. If a young receiver gets cut like Jordan Kent from the Seahawks or Mario Urrutia from Tampa Bay, i'd like to sign them at a low cost/low reward scenario. anything else would be a bad move. I'm sorry, but i am still reeling from the Matthew Hatchette/Justin McCareins experience.
Strange that you would still be reeling from Hatchette/McCareins and you are in favor of going after discarded trash from other teams...
McCareins and Hatchette were unproven depth receivers that never panned out. Marshall is a Pro Bowl wideout, and he is very dynamic. I'm not in favor of a Marshall trade, but the only thing that is comparable is that a draft pick would be involved.
Marshall's a clown but he's a great player. If all this nonsense lowers his trade value I'd be all for it.
For all the hoopla and excitement surrounding Sanchez, I can't believe that fans want to hook his wagon up to a spoiled, immature, malcontent who has had one and half good seasons and is an off the field problem.
lol i said this in another thread. I want to see exactly how good Marshall and Cutler are without Mike Shanahan. its prett easy to make plays when you have over 500 oppertunities to do it. although that being said theyve both got talent. i just wanna see how they fair without the pacifier
You would have been describing Randy Moss a couple of years ago with. Look how he turned out. Don't base anything on what is happening in Denver right now.
i wouldnt be worried about whats going on in DEN right now. thats not the complaint i understand. McDaniels seems like a dick who has a Bellicheck swagger without the hardware to back it up. god knows how he talks behind closed doors. he shit the bed as far as im concerned but whatever. i find the antics funny, and if he has the balls to miss out on paychecks go ahead. but i doubt the team will be dumb eough to trade marshall also. marshall is just trying to make it an attractive option. I'd be more concerned with Marshall's second career of training for the UFC with his girlfriend. fuck the guy gets in trouble in Denver, wtf would happen to him in New York. and the last thing i want is Marshall's cousin poppin off at the mouth and getting Darelle Revis killed.
Denver is so screwed up that they suspended him for the rest of pre-season. Imagine how upset that makes him. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4428598
On January 1, 2007, Marshall was present at "The Shelter," a nightclub in Denver, Colorado, along with teammates Javon Walker and Darrent Williams. The trio was attending a birthday party held for and by Denver Nuggets forward Kenyon Martin. As the players were leaving the club in a limousine, Williams was fatally shot in the neck after an unknown assailant opened fire on the vehicle. Willie Clark was later charged with the murder. Walker has stated in interviews that the shooter was likely a nightclub patron whose motive was retaliation after being involved in an altercation with Marshall's cousin earlier that night.
Trading for a star wide receiver is an extremely risky move that might not even matter in the end if we have a breakdown on the line or at QB for the season. The Jets would be better off saving the 2010 picks this will cost them to bolster what should be a better opportunity in 2010 once Sanchez gets his feet on the ground. If we lose anybody on the offensive line to injury we're probably capped at 7 or 8 wins next year and maybe several fewer than that. Giving up a top 10 pick plus for Marshall to win that number of games would be a nightmare of a deal and it would set us back again. Sometimes you just need to let the pieces fall in place naturally. I know this is not a Jets notion, but that's at least partly why we keep losing 10-12 games every other year.
