I think Ivory is a real talent. Last year he seemed to spend the early part of the year getting up to speed, but he had some very good games in the second half. My concern about him remains he injury factor, however. And let's face it he's not much catching the ball. Johnson is the better back, but I don't see the Jets finding a way to make good use of all of Johnson, Ivory and Powell.

It says here this is not happening.

One will be the odd man out and it would be Powell. IMO.

I think we are good without "CJ2K". Let's find a guy that can catch out of the backfield and take one to the house.

I meant through the draft. Cheaper, younger, more upside. If CJ comes here and doesn't get his normal 15-20 carries, he's going to complain and bitch.

Dude scored a TD every 8 touches! Will be a late round pick.

First time I'll say I'd rather wait and draft someone like this than sign somebody.

I'd enjoy watching Thomas explode out of the endzone.
I mean we have 3 4th round picks for fucks sake lol

If we can get him with our 4th rounder id be ecstatic. He has crazy speed and field vision. He also benefited from great blocking but he would definitely add some excitement to our Offense

This draft is so damn deep in a magnitude of positions, that's the reason why I don't see a reason to spend millions on a D-Jax, Chris Johnson or DRC. Granted they aren't proven yet, but these guys have so much talent.

@JasonLaCanfora: Still expecting Chris Johnson's release to come this week. When it does, look for the Jets to pounce on the RB. Would be a strong fit

Don't forget, getting Johnson allows us to go after other positions than RB in the draft ;) *irony off*
Nevertheless I would bring Johnson in for 2yrs, 4M or less. Otherwise some other team can pick him up. Getting Johnson doesn't mean Idzik couldn't go after Thomas in the draft. Powell will be more than likely gone if Johnson is coming in and the RB position would consist of one power RB in Ivory, a speedy guy in Johnson and an appealing rookie in Thomas. Even if Thomas won't make an immediate impact, he has time to get used to the NFL and learn behind CJ2K.

Lol you just described CJ2k. Did you know he is the only back to gain at least 1000 yards each of the last six years and has not missed a game in years? That's not what you shell out $10 million for usually but if he were available and at the right price I'd love to add him to the team.

Ivory is a two down back with a bad hammy. Powell is an average talent at best. CJ is the switchblade-style back that Morninwheg has made so productive: He can catch, he's durable, he's fast and he can pass-block. All he lacks is motivation, and I think Rex can bring out the best in CJ2k. A motivated Chris Johnson is a top 5 NFL back.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves, I think CJ could be a good addition and a valuable player but I'm not expecting even top 10-15 type value. I think he'll be our 3rd down guy plus maybe a few more snaps here and there.

I disagree. I think if we do get Johnson he ends up our starter. I look for it to be the same thing when we signed LT.IMO CJ still got a great talent and will and can get back to the old Johnson.

So draft him and give him the ball 16-24 times/game (including kicks) and we'll be good.

I agree that CJ would be our starter. Ivory is a great rotational talent to have but I don't think he should be given the bulk of the load.

LeMichael James isn't nearly as explosive as Thomas. So we can end that comparison right now.
