the Bills, Jets, Phins and Falcons were all interested in him, correct? since then, ATL has said they have no interest, Miami signed Moreno.

I think it's between un and Buffalo. Buffalo has Spiller, so I would think CJ thinks he has a better chance of starting with us.

You may be on to something there..rumors were the Jets wanted Jennings, they definitely wanted a top CB and even wanted DRC..there was supposed interest in Jackson at one point too. Now he is sitting on 26M and this is probably the last big name FA that will be on the market this year. He may want to make a splash at any cost to get people off his back. And I don't mean "any cost" literally, just not to be outbid by a legitimate deal.

Between FJAX and Spiller I'm not even sure why they're interested.

Plus they say the Jets want to run the ball.

a fifth round pick is worth a lot more than just their monetary value for the upcoming season

cj > sproles minus a fifth round pick

You know, I am going to change my tune here somewhat since you are right. I'd prefer to use ypc as the metric, since the Jets ran the ball more than average, but even at ypc they were ninth. Which is not even average, let alone mediocre. Good point.

9th out of 32 teams is not even average?

That may all be true but they still didn't run the ball like they wanted. They went out and got Goodsen for a reason and that element of the running game never existed last year. He will probably not be back and Johnson would serve as a better version of him this year and going forward.

Woodson was brought in to be a 3rd down back type, catch passes. If they sign Johnson Goodson will be gone.

Actually the word "would" implies a certainty. The certainty was not that CJ will be a Jet, but that the combination of he and Ivory would be epic. "Could" implies possibility, not certainty. If CJ becomes a Jet, he and Ivory might be epic, but they might not. Understand semantics.

Did you guys forget that about 70% of the time we were at 2nd and 9 mostly because of our elite running backs

You said they weren't in the same price range. Well as I explained to you they actually are in the same price range if you're talking strictly monetary value including what a 5th rounder would yield contract wise, which is what price range implies. Yikes, do I really need to explain this to you?

CJ is more of a luxury. If we were coming off the 2012 season then I'd be thrilled to bring him in. Ivory and Powell did a good job last year. I'd like to see another year with those 2 and Goodson playing in the same system.

Powell and Goodson can catch out the backfield.
