It's still Thomas. Thomas was injured during the 2013 season with an ankle injury as well. Statistically, look at his first 2 seasons at Oregon. The guy was a threat each time he touched the ball, he's more explosive then James. James prob is a player that can take more of a load. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/...thony-thomas-clocked-at-434-at-oregon-workout
If Jets get CJ, and you combine that with Vick, Jets going to be one of the top madden teams next year.
Guessing you did not watch too much LeMichael James. Either way, whatever I would not mind having Anthony for a 5th+ round draft pick. Nothing lower though.
Ian Rapoport @RapSheet 5m Next shoe to drop in @NFL: Impending release of #Titans RB Chris Johnson. Should happen at the end of this week or beginning of next week But forget the Jets and this GM having anything to do with him.
I don't know. Too many variables in play. However, I do think your implication that Idzik and co. are sitting on their hands, too clueless/afraid to act, is bogus.
Not clueless or afraid, too cheap. Do you seriously believe that the only FA the Jets wanted was Decker? I will rephrase that to say the only FA who is an upgrade.
I don't under the level of hate against this move. It would probably only be a 2 year deal, and the Jets have money so I don't wanna hear that excuse. Powell is a god damn 3rd string running back at best and Ivory still has yet to prove he can stay healthy for 16 games. It's worth a shot because honestly the Jets probably aren't looking to draft a running back anyway
If they wanted other guys they would have offered more money, they got all the guys they truly wanted.
same here. they each bring something to the table, and could end up complimenting each other quite well. doesn't matter to me who is listed as the 'starter'. they'd both have a role, and could help the team. I also like Powell, who would still have a role, albeit a little reduced. Johnson is a dynamic threat with the ball in his hands, a playmaker capable of catching passes from the backfield or running up between the tackles. would love to see it..
That's my point, he is too cheap. He thinks his number is the only number but other teams like NE, Denver, KC, Baltimore and on and on and on know it isn't.
so we should have overpaid? obviously they didn't value those guys at those #s. we'll see in the coming years if it works.
That is what you say when it is us. If it happens to another team, you would say that the team got spurned.
Why is it overpaying if it's not the number Idzik likes? That's pure bullshit. It isn't overpaying to every good team in the league and half the bad teams too, only to Idzik...well I am on record saying that if Johnson gets cut he won't even make it as far as an visit with the Jets before signing somewhere else. And all of the Idzik apologists like you can say that the Jets never had any interest to begin with despite all the articles that say different.
I would like to see a stat that shows the salary cap space left of the team that won super bowl that season
we haven't been competitive price wise for the big names in FA. he clearly doesn't want to overpay, he is not building for 2014. he is building for 2014, 2015, 2016 and beyond. The other approach got us 2 title games and some down years, let's see if this way gets us sustained success.
It's overpaying to him, he has a # he is comfortable w/ and he's showing restraint. he should be commended for that. he overpaid for Decker a bit, he wanted Decker.
