While I know we're pretty (read: REALLY) desperate for a safety, from looking at what our draft gurus have to say Barron wouldn't really solve our problems, plays more like a in-the-box SS rather than the coverage FS we need. Barron makes even LESS sense if we get Landry, we'd effectively have 3 SSs in Smith, Landry, and Barron just with different ages and ceilings.
I cant believe Mike T. let this guy leave NY without a deal. Ideally we can trade back and get Barron, an OLB, and safety in the 1st and 2nd rounds. Edit: Well if Barron really can't cover, then maybe we will be seeing a trade, which FS could the jets have interest in?
That's why we need to rebound and have a solid season to put last season behind us already. It's already been overblown
I'd post the link but I don't have the post count but check out 'thejetsblog' had a pic of Landry that puts his juicing (to me) beyond a shadow of a doubt.
Or the Bengals spent a crazy amount, per PFT the Bengals had around 49.9 mil of cap at the beginning of FA. Since they haven't really signed anyone (Guard Travelle Wharton is about the only notable signing) they could have spent way over our ability
It's really scary that NE now has outside receivers to go with their two tight ends..we better do something in the safety, MLB department and quick. Oh and they have 4 first day picks. We have to pray we can hold onto second place in the division.
Tanny will be on the phone today looking for a trade to get a free safety IMO. I just wonder who could be targetted.
