Yeah good point thats prob why theres no interest in him, just a thought as i can't see us wastin a 1st or 2nd pick on another RB with more glaring needs at LB and WR.

Last thing we need is another prick causing locker room issues.

He may be onto something, Nelson could be part of something there like corn is sometimes part of poop.

Let's not go crazy here people. This goes on every free agency period with almost every player.

It's really nothing new. He is mulling the ideas and seeing what is best for him. We will know soon.

why isn't he thinking about what's best for US?

is this guy really the right fit for the team if he doesn't think about the FANS?

    IS HE?!

You'd think this guy is Ronnie Lott or something as wound up about him as some on here are getting!

He's pretty good and if he signs with the Jets he's an upgrade and he'd definitely help them.... but he's not a game changer.

Perfectly put. He's a good upgrade but definitely nothing special.

I agree to a certain extent but the thing is, we have essentially one safety on our roster. The one safety we have is a steaming pile of dog shit and Jets fans don't want him anywhere near the starting lineup.

While Nelson is obviously not Ronnie Lott he is by far the best safety available and many of of see him as a great fit in the Jets D and a huge upgrade. Another thing is if we don't get him it pretty much forces us to address safety in the draft which is never a good situation.

Pretty awesome considering the Bengals recent history of being a criminal enterprise that the Jets are the circus. Agree, Jets are a bit of a gong show, but many people here have made a good point about him getting the chance to play on Rex' D.

all the radio said (per the bengals forum previously posted in the thread) is that he won't return to Cincy. Not that he'd be going to NY....

    But hopefully it is true...

They are talking about tweeting the big boys schefter/clayton/la canforna/albert breer trying to get confirmation/falsifying the rumors reported by a radio station...

I have to hope at this point that because no 'mystery' team has been named that the decision came down to whether he was willing to leave Cincy or not (with the alternative being NYJ).

Please. Reggie plays FS correct? We thinking Smith over at SS, or resign Jimmy, or none of the above....

    Jimmy is also a FS

So it would be Eric Smith (SS) + Nelson (FS)

    Unless we got Landry (SS)

Or some other not yet explored FA

Plus whoever we draft will likely get some snaps @ depth

If we don't have two starting safeties by the draft they could end up taking Barron but that would probably be a stretch..at one time he was projected to go that high but I'm not sure he is now.
