Think that has something to do with the fact that we only have 10 million in cap space ?

Don't let facts get in the way of his whining. Every football team should over spend in the offseason every year. Its obviously the path to success.

I agree. A secondary that has had safeties that lack cover skills needs to sign a safety that lacks cover skills. That way opposing TEs can continue to burn the Jets. That is the Jets system.

If you watch the video interview with Bryan Thomas on nyjets.com you'll see the Jet For Life attitude that people wanted from Ellis. Thomas signed without even exploring the free agent market.

LaRon Landry without another new safety with good coverage-skills (R. Nelson?!) would be completely useless...

Yeah, like the Pats did for Lloyd..3 years, 12 mil...they really got taken to the cleaners, right? You either want to play for a team or you don't.

So if we could only get Landry, we should pass on him and stick with Smith. Gotcha.

Landry is not even 1/4 as bad as Smith in coverage. He is also 10x faster. Landry instantly improves this defense. Adding Nelson with him makes the defense that much better though because you have one of the best in the box safeties in the NFL and a great cover safety in Nelson.

Please get Nelson. Please? Really tired of watching other teams run past our safeties. Please. To those of you who know, if we only get either Landry or Nelson, what safety would we be realistically drafting? I doubt we get one in the first round since we badly need anyone to rush the passer.

He must be a late sleeper seeing as the Jets apparently still do not have an answer.

With less than 10 mill in cap space and two saftys to sign, spending 4 per on Lloyd was not an option. Is it really that hard to understand?

Could somebody hurry up and post the pertinent twitter quote about Nelson accepting the Jets offer?

    I'm starting to get nervous.

Not sure I like his Achilles injury and what it might do to that speed...

I don't like Smith, but I can deal with him if Nelson gets signed. If it's Landry, then the Jets are screwed.

    Mangold is faster than Smith.

I'm sure the FO will see how Landry is with the injury before they sign him. I'm sure he will be good to go for training camp.

Well, it was St Patty's day. Hopefully he had a drunken epiphany and realized the Jets are the place to be!

a tweet like this makes me call BS on most of the stuff this steiny person says. we already heard he plans on making a decision by tomorrow morning. it's 11:22 AM. i would think a decision is coming within the next few hours if not at any minute.

how does he tweet that reggie nelson has made a decision yet he doesn't know who he picked? what? it's almost like he's trying to be INCbob here. not saying he's on his level because this kid on jetsblog but still...
