Probably wont hear anything on nelson until later tonight.

If im correct landry is still coming down here just wont be here until after 6-7pm est.

Personal opinion once landry is here neither nelson or landry leaves without a contract.

Yeah I feel Tanny will spend the cap on these 2 guys. Fill the other holes in the draft.

I hope we get Nelson. Landry sounds like a glorified Eric Smith. We can stop the run we need to cover.

  7. I think Landry will want to hear what Rex has to say. When you factor in Rex's scheme along w/ who the Jets corners are..this is an attractive option for a physical safety like Landry. Additionally Nelson compliments Landry's game very well. They'd be a very good tandem, if healthy.

That said, all free agents "intend" on taking all their visits. They have no negotiation leverage without that notion. In modern day free agency, most guys take the first fit.money match that comes along

Just saying, we had a hard time stopping the run last year...

And also, if that was Landry on the 99 yard Cruz TD instead of Smith, Cruz would have been pushed out of bounds at the 45. Landry would have also caught up to Brent Celek on the long TD vs the Eagles.

Landry is better than Smith in every aspect, so if you want to call that a “glorified Eric Smith”, sure, go ahead.

Thank you, why would you say Landry signed with the Pats?

Exactly, which is why Im just hoping he makes it out of NE. If he does, Im pretty confident we can persuade him to sign.

yea true. Both our safeties last year are both classified as in the box safeties but a OLB and our safeties did fuck up a few times.

Do you think it's possible that we get both of them ?

If we can nab Nelson/Landry than all we'd need is an OLB and RT and maybe another spell RB. The draft will be really crucial this season, moreso than other years. I see Floyd/Richardson or an OLB being our pick at 16

Its possible, its just weather or not we are willing to dish out the money that they want.

I would say Nelson signing with us is probable, but Landry is a crap shoot.

But Landry will knock Gronkowsi into next week the first time he attempts a catch over the middle...for that alone he is worth signing.

Signing both would also allow us to cut Smith and free up 2 million..worth it in itself lol

If we sign Landry, we need some sort of a fall back plan due to his injury history. So cutting smith may not be the best decision (although I wish he would never step foot on a football field again).

I think if Landry is signed, one of Smith and Leonhard should be back to have an insurance plan.

That just means once we have the depth signed that officially
will move him to back up, his contract will get reworked.

Smith is not going any where he is huge on ST.
