Donald Brown is going to be one of the best RB in this draft. He has the size and speed, and is physical enough to be the RB the Jets need. Jones, Brown, Leon.

Kevin Jones is now an afterthought. He is a talented back with chronic injury problems. I'm sure if he were brought in, it would be as a 3rd string back with commensurate pay. It would be a harmless signing and I don't think it'd affect our taking of a young RB in the draft at all , so I really don't see this as an either/or like some of you are making it out to be.
I agree... I don't understand why he's rated so low, asides from his 4.63 40 time, which I could care less about... -Great vision -Great power -Always moving legs -Never goes down He seems like the perfect running back. I'd take him in a heartbeat. If Jets have a shot at this guy in the 2nd round and don't pick him I'll be going nuts. Chris Wells would be nice too, but I'd rather have Greene, and Wells will go first anyway so whatever on him.
Nobody in the entire NFL is going to want two RBs named Jones on the same team so if we do sign him, Thomas will probably get cut...j/k. It will drive the announcers and stats guys crazy.
Yeah, he just seems to have the best awareness on the field. Forget 40 times, this dude knows what to do in real situations. That vision you're talking about is what makes good nfl backs.
Nice job there xxedge. In defense of Brown, his highlights were only from 3 games, while the others were from the entire season. He was also running against 8 in thre box, as after UConn's QB went down early in the season, they had no passing game whatsoever. I actually have Wells, Moreno and Brown ranked pretty closley. Green is right behind them, and McCoy is a distant fifth. I'd be happy with any one of the five, or Micheal Bush from Oakland. Green lacks top end speed... rememeber, these are highlight films. But, I'd be thrilled if he became a Jets. While there are no Adrian Petersons in this draft, these five are pretty freakin good.
I definitely understand they are highlight films, but he does something on almost every single play that none of the other guys do in their own highlight films, which is to not only make perfect reads, but then to keep moving his legs and stay on his feet after first contact... he does it a lot... Chris Wells does it too, but watching his films makes me think he's more of a mauler who is just going to plow on straight ahead, where as Greene is going to find holes and exploit them. My personal take is that Greene's running style is the ideal style for an NFL team, which is why I'm so high on him. Not having top end speed doesn't concern me, we have Washington for situations where top end speed is needed.
Or Arian Foster in the 4th. Cough, Cough. Cough, I say! This. Shonn Greene is a hard hitting, physical football player. BUT, he'll hit you at an angle every time because he knows that while he can flatten you straight up he'll get more yards and have less of a chance of hurting himself by taking out half of the defender's body rather than their whole body. This will be very important at the NFL level, as he won't be able to full out deck nearly as many linebackers at that level.
we need anothe offensive game breaker besides leon. he's the only player on our roster that i believe can score everytime he touches the ball.
Judging by the videos Donald Brown isn't in the same category as the other backs. Wells and Greene stick out as the best, I give Wells the lead due to his greater speed. McCoy looked more like a second rounder in that video, though its hard to tell from one viewing because the defenses were stacked against the run. Its Joey Clinkscales job to rewind that video and figure out how good McCoy really is, but with Greene and Wells even a non-expert can tell these are great backs.
i dont think this is necessary...between TJ and LW we have all we need....take that money and invest it in the D Line
Let me repeat: Brown's highlights were taken fron ONLY 3 games, while the others were from their entire season. Brown's best runs aren't on that highlight reel.
If you not going to draft a running back in the draft which i think will be foolish since they need a big back why not bring in Ward and sign him to a two year contract. It looks like he doesn't have that many takers.
