That'd be so sick.....and ironic, too! I know soooo many people personally who would want to hit me so badly if I wore that jersey.

I agree 100%. BUT, what Jets fans need to realize is that this signing makes sense. This puts us in prime position to either draft or trade up to draft a WR, which the Taylor signing would make our most pressing need heading into the draft.

Or...we could just draft an OLB and secure the pass rushing ability of this defense for the next five years, minimum. WR is not that high on the list right now and given our starters, your typical mid round slot WR would do the most good for this team. WR a pressing need? Give me a fucking break. The only thing bringing in Taylor could possibly do is force the Jets to pass on what may well be the deepest 3-4 OLB draft class in years.

We're probably not drafting a WR in the first round, and we're definitely not trading up for one.

While i definitely understand the argument that he was a fin forever, talk bad about us, whatever we hdidnt give him the easiest time either

the fact of the matter is (which has been posted 54973859 times :shit:) is that he does help our team, he realizes that, tanny and rex realize that, why can't some of you realize that?

I do see where you guys are coming from, but if he gets three sacks in the ifrst game, you all know damn well people will be buying his jersey online that night...

Stop worrying , and hating about the decision making, these guys clearly know what they're doing so lets trust in their decisions and let them do it...

Its been a VERY long time since i can honestly say whatever the front office does...Weather it be a trade,FA signing, or the draft, im completely confident it will work out (with the one exception maybe being the folk thing:eek:hmy:)

Both of these guys have done great things for us in their very short time together and Im confident in what they're doing....why arent more people??

P.S ......... You really dont think the dol-phags wouldnt take a Bart scott on their team if he was available? come onnnn(rolls eyes)

I know alot of folks are coming around to this idea, I'm not. My hate for this turd goes pretty deep, whether he helps us or not. Prefer to wait for the draft and the fall out after the draft.

But X the thing is Miami needed him to play every down, he's going to be brought in just to play a specific role, that is to hurt the QB. That's it. He'll probably only be on the field for half the defensive plays a game. Basically any time the QB sees him on the field they're gonna know that a face full of jackass is coming at them. It's not like we need him to be our defensive star like the Dolphags did. The fact that BT would kept makes it pretty clear. As far as motivation liek was posted he turned down visits with several teams, why? Because the Jets give him that one last shot at immortality. Not that this should factor into the signing but for us fans just imagine if the 2nd greatest Dolphin played nearly his entire career with them and in his 1 and only year with the Jets he won the SB?

Maybe I just don't take things as personal but I'm more offended by what guys like Pac Man Jones or Randy McMichael do (mistreatment of wives and women) as opposed to some guy talking shit. Like has been previously posted, I started calling JT a piece of shit from the day they drafted him just like I did with John Beck or Ronnie Brown. Those guys never did anything to me but they were automatically fags for being members of that franchise.

I agree with your 110%. Screw guys that have "abuse" issues, especially when it relates to women. I could give a shit less what a player on an opposing team says about our team, or the fans. Is he supposed to be throwing us a ticker tape parade??

I love the idea of having Taylor in on passing downs. He will most likely split time with Thomas, and work the pass downs exclusively. It's not so much how many sacks he will provide, but the presence and extra attention he will receive. Having a sack "specialist" (per say) on the field will help the rest of the defense.

Imagine having a good edge rusher putting pressure on the QB, and the QB forcing the ball out to one of his WR's whom are covered by Revis/Cromartie :). Likewise, Revis/Cromartie making the QB hold the ball for an extra second while Taylor and co are after him. BTW- That extra second of QB hesitation will be a benefit to Taylor regarding his age and loss of speed.

Don't disagree with a thing you are saying....and if this was just about any other player in the NFL, or even from the Dolfags (except maybe Zach Thomas), I would agree totally. But this is Jason Taylor we are talking about. To a long time Jets fan, that makes it different ....in a BIG way.

Yes he will help the team. Yes I am aware of the football argument for bringing him here. Know what? I don't give a fuck. He doesn't belong in Jets green & white. He is THE anti-Jet. The fact that he is even entertaining the idea of coming here means that his career is over. It means that nobody else wants him. It means that he is compromising his integrity to play for one more year - even if it's in the most distastefull place on earth to him. And if he signs here, it also means he is the biggest hypocrite on the face of the earth.

I think this will happen. He will sign. He has no other options but to retire, so he'll sign. He'll contribute. But I don't have to like it, and neither does any other Jet fan......and a lot of us won't.

I will not cheer him. I will turn my back when he is introduced. I will not boo out of respect for the rest of the team, but I will not "embrace" this scumbag as a Jet - ever.

I'm torn on this one. As much as I would hate to see him in green and white, i would drink whatever cool aid Rex dished out, and if Rex said he was a good fit with the Defense, whom and I to argue. One nasty sack of Tom Brady, while in a JETS uni might be a delightful sight.

    Sigh.

Jets enlist L.T. to recruit J.T.
Posted by Mike Florio on April 9, 2010 8:18 AM ET
The effort to lure long-time Jets nemesis Jason Taylor to New York continued on Thursday, amid a clear indication from the Dolphins that the flirtation would not accelerate the team's consideration of the veteran linebacker/defensive end. Miami plans to wait until after the draft to make a decision.

Despite a general belief that Taylor won't be inclined to participate in an offseason program in a location far removed from his South Florida home, the Jets seem to be making some progress. Most recently, running back LaDainian Tomlinson, who was the subject of recruiting efforts last month, joined the cause.

"I think this is the perfect fit for him," Tomlinson said, per the Associated Press (via the New York Post). "When you think about it, and Jason's obviously thinking about it, he probably can see himself being here. I think we've got a great shot of getting him."

Linebacker Calvin Pace also has assisted with the wooing of the 2006 NFL defensive player of the year. "You don't want him playing every single down," Pace told the Newark Star-Ledger. "If you can keep him somewhat fresh. . . . I think he'll fit in good in here. He'll see the enthusiasm and it'll give him a little extra pep in his step."

One guy who likely wasn't involved in the Taylor tookus smooching was linebacker Vernon Gholston, who would be taking a much bigger step toward the door if/when Taylor arrives.

As we pointed out in the wake of the news that Taylor would be visiting New York, the Jets are limited by the "Final Eight Plan." They can offer Taylor at most a contract that matches the 2010 compensation paid by the Cardinals to kicker Jay Feely, with limited growth thereafter. It works out to $1.5 million in salary and bonuses in 2010, and $1.8 million in 2011.

But with the Dolphins apparently reluctant to pay Taylor anything, $1.5 million from the Jets could be Taylor's best best. The biggest question is whether he'd sign a contract with the Jets before the start of training camp. We'd still be surprised if he did.

Thus, there's one final possibility that we shouldn't rule out -- Taylor inking a postdated deal that will sit on the desk of G.M. Mike Tannenbaum until the middle of July. It wouldn't be the first time and NFL team used that maneuver, and it definitely wouldn't be the last.

that woeful football team beat us. you think the three sacks might have helped?

if the signing helps us win one game its worth it.

we can still get someone through the draft

I used to cheer for Sting to zip-line down to the ring and lay the Scorpion Death Lock on nWo members like Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, and Randy Savage. As soon as the Wolfpack was born, I was cheering for Nash Hall etc.

If Tom Brady was walking across the street I would pretend I didn't see him and run him over. But if the patsies released him and the the Jets were woo'ing him because Sanchez went down, I'd be all for bringing in a 3 time SB winning QB to guide the team.

Team history is built by championships. Division, conference and SB. Secondarily, the great players of the team add to that history. Martin, Vinney, Green, Chrebet, Chad, LC, Ellis....those are the names in our recent history that add to the aw of the team. Wins first, then the players.

If Dan Marino had a magic potion to bring us an SB I'd welcome him with open arms....(I just threw up in my mouth at that thought).

Alliances and feelings can change when your team has the advantage. I WANT Taylor on the team. I will still boo him cause he would be our "heel". But God dammit I know he will help this team win.
