I just dont see this happening... he is just using us as leverage against the dolphins.

Taylor 'only' had 7 sacks last year, not 9. That's still a healthy amount considering the rest of the Dolphins D. I think he might still have double digit sack potential in a Jets uni, depending on playing time.

He also had 3 forced fumbles and a pick, so hopefully (as long as he isn't in Miami or NE) he still has some big play potential.

Does someone have the pick of the dude who tried to stab Taylor, and added a Jets insignia on his head? lol

JT to Jets makes perfect sense

The word tsunami comes to mind...

As much as I hate JT the FB player from a Jets' fan perspective, how awesome would it be to win the SB with him on the team and throw it in Fin fan's faces - thank's for that last peice. Jets give JT the trophy he spent 13 years chasing with the faggoty teal n orange group.

Not to be redundant but this would be a great move from a football perspective. I would hate to see BT go cause he's been stable and consistent, albeit not stellar.

Too bad there wasn't room for AT too. That would be sick to have JT, AT, BT & CP rotate in and out. Maybe even Gladys could get a sack in on the year with all that aggression around him....hahaha

His acquisition would undoubtedly improve the team in an area that needs improving. Anyone who has a problem with him needs to understand we're just rooting for laundry.

This would be great lol. It would really piss off the Dolphin fans which I would find funny. I hate Taylor but this would be an interesting move.

That was on the Dolphins defense...don't you think our defense would give him more chances for even more sacks? 7 sacks still shows he has some sort of play making ability...Bryan Thomas and Calvin Pace had 10 sacks...combined.

This is the one single exception that I believe exists for the coaching staff and management to log into TGG and take a straw poll on bringing in Taylor. Too many of us would just hate it.

Yeah he was injured a lot that year too. Sign him for 1 year and draft away from LB or DE then he gets her and you fuck yourself.

Thomas is great against the run but cannot rush the passer. Taylor is still a decent pass rusher but he's crap against the run. If we bring in Taylor, it's likely to be as a pass rushing specialist.
Bryan Thomas has never been a great pass rusher except for his one contract year. Pace had 8 sacks last season after sitting out for 4 games and a slow start in his first few games back. Had he played all year, he would have 12 on his own.

I like the idea of a BT and JT platoon. And then, as UKK says, we are even freer to draft BPA. Yummm

some of you posters are real bitch made

are you really holding grudges over those comments? imagine the type of jets fans that jason taylor has run into throughout his career, do you really think his assessment is that far off? there are probably players currently on the jets that have the same feelings

and theres no reason to hate the man this much based on his on field work, we owned the phins for most of his career

now if you dont want him based on age, or production, contract, etc., then fine. but if we can get someone that can make this team better, im all for it

I don't have a huge problem with Taylor, but clearly a lot of people do so if he comes to the Jets he's going to have to have a Pro Bowl season to be anywhere near being accepted. I'm not convinced that at his age and for that money it's a good idea for him, but we'll see. I'd still want us to be looking for a decent pass rusher in the later rounds.

What money are we talking about? Feely signed a one yr deal worth $1.25mil. We can't pay more than that anyways.

i kinda want him to sign now just for the press and all the emotion it is going to stir be it good or bad.

for a team that was never on the front page these last 2 and a half years have been amazing as far as being a jets fan

Exactly. If I were in his shoes, I'd be wondering whether the abuse and the expectation from the Jets fans was worth it for what is a relatively small amount of money that he can probably get from the Fish anyway, and a much easier ride to boot. The only reason I can see for him wanting to come is for a shot at a ring, which is laudable, but he certainly won't be getting a big pension payday.
