Thats really the only negative i can think of for adding Housh provided what we need to give up in a trade is easy to swallow. Housh could be very useful as a #4, and it would just give sanchez another weapon to play with. Housh also don't strike me as a selfish guy who has to have the ball ala Ochocinco when they were in cincy. Housh would come in head down and work hard to help everyone get the ring we want so badly

Heh. I wonder if Tanny is trying to trade McKnight to Pete Carroll for Housh.

I don't see what an aging overpaid Housh brings to this team, especially with Coles expected back. MIN, please take him. You need him more than we do.

I think the attraction is that supposedly his contract would allow a team to sign him for the league minimum and the Seahawks would be on the hook for the rest of the guaranteed portion. I'm not 100 % sure of this though.

oddly it wouldnt be much more than that. We got holmes for a 5, no way is housh worth what holmes is. So yeah clowney and a 7 might do it. Crayton went for a 7 yesterday...

He will be released so whoever wants him will get him for nothing.

WR is the one position we don't really need much help at. Surprised that more teams aren't interested in him at this point, he's really an ideal #2.

I remember heading into last season, Jet fans such as myself were in love with the idea of adding a WR such as Brandon Marshall, Anquan Boldin or Braylon Edwards. I remember reading threads about Jet fans interested in WR's such as Terrell Owens and Plaxico Burress.

    We all understood why.

After the loss of Coles, we were looking at a trio of Cotchery as our 1, Stuckey as our 2, with either Brad Smith or Clowney as our slot WR.

Thats not the case anymore. We're now at the point, where plenty of Jet fans wanted nothing to do with Terrell Owens during the offseason, weren't high on Coles, and now want pretty much nothing to do with Houshmanzadeh.

    Most of us understand why.

Maybe thats because we have Braylon Edwards as our 1, Santonio Holmes as our 2, with Jerricho Cotchery as our slot WR come week 5.

During last offseason, I would have never thought that we'd have, what we now have at the WR position. I'm really enjoying it. This offense is full of talent for the first time since 1998.

Houshmanzadeh is now a free agent, he's been released. He's an upgrade over either Smith or Clowney as our 4th WR. I'm all for adding TJ because it's an upgrade to an already talented offense and one thing is for sure... He'll help out during the 1st 4 weeks because I'd rather have Braylon and TJ on the outside with Cotchery in the slot / instead of Braylon and Cotchery on the outside with Smith or Clowney in the slot.

Yeah he's only 34. We need as many middle-aged players as possible. Lol

He's not going to sign here to be a #4 receiver. He's still good enough to start on the majority of teams in the NFL. I could see him going to the Rams, who are apparently also interested in Vincent Jackson.

He's actually 32, but that still doesn't change the fact that he put up 79 catches to go along with 900+ yards last season. He's an upgrade over Smith and Clowney as of right now, he's also an upgrade over both Smith and Clowney as our #4 WR come week 5 when Holmes joins the Jets.

Injuries happen in football, just look at our Calvin Pace situation.

There is no guarantee that Edwards, Cotchery and Holmes will all stay healthy this season. Having a WR such as TJ as our #4 WR could go a long way this season. If any one of our top trio of WR's goes down, we would then have a WR in TJ that could step in, run routes, make plays and pick up 1st downs for our offense.

The same types of things can not be said about Smith and Clowney.

    Braylon Edwards
    Santonio Holmes
    Jerricho Cotchery
    TJ Houshmandzadeh

    Sign me up.

All I can say is good luck guarding all of those guys + Keller. Sure we aren't going to throw it like the Colts, but damn when we need to score with two minutes to go, running 4 wide or 5 wide with keller, all i can say is how the hell would you stop us from moving at will? I mean all 5 guys can beat their man 1-on-1 and you certainly cant double everybody. God wouldnt that be fun to see?
