i think we're trying to get him to sit out ten games more than trying to sign him. thats a pretty good move on our part, tanny must've read the art of war.

and even if it forces the pats to trade him to some other team, it still gets their best corner off the team. it's a win win for us.

I personally think the entire article is speculative, mental-masturbative nonsense. It states, "Albert Breer of the MetroWest Daily News reports that the New York Jets COULD be plotting..." ba-blah, ba-blah.

It smells like colossal off-season gossip and pure conjecture on Albert Breer's part, whoever the hell he is and of what little authority he represents as a legitimately knowledgeable and trustworthy source. And while we're at it, the MetroWest Daily News isn't exactly the epitome of unquestionable sourcing either. But it IS the offseason...

When it comes down to it this a brilliant move by Tangini. We already hosted Randall Gay pre-draft who was also a restricted free agent just to let him know that if he plays well and wants out that we'll be happy to give him a home next year. Now we're doing the same with Asante. This will force the Pats to either over pay them to keep them cause the Jets will likely land one of them in next years free agency or to significantly raise the ante for another team to get either one of them. But basically now the Patsies need to keep these two guys happy so they dont fall to their biggest rival.

All-in-all, a great job. I say we fuck with the Patsies and host Asante and let him know that he's loved elsewhere but he has to wait and we encourage him to sit till week 10.

But as previously stated, we're fairly solid at corner with Revis, Dyson, Miller to hold us over for the season especially if Revis lives up to expectations. NE needs to worry that either Gay or Samuels are gonna be wearing green in a year.

    I guess everybodys a comic

  6. That wouldnt exactly be a bad thing. Just to keep the Jets from getting him next year, the Pats maybe forced to reduce their demand for Samuel in trade talks. Also, getting Samuel OFF the pats at ANy cost is a good thing.

    do it, do it.....

i have been saying this for a while, if we are planning on trading or doing something with barrett and justin miller is only going to be a return guy and maybe a dimeback, we need samuel opposite side of dyson, with revis at nickel.

^ I don't think you trade up to the 14th pick in the draft for a nickel back

Herm and Bradway were fired for essentially being obsessed with the secondary and ignoring the trenches. I hope Mangini has more sense.

  10. This is more about hurting a rival than anything else. Additionally Samuel is a "mangini guy" who happens to be a pro bowl caliber player that fits the system. The position he plays is kind of regardless in the case, as we would do the same thing if it were Ty Warren, Matt Light or even Tom Brady.

W/ that said, You can never have enough good Db's, and you add Samuel(Which I doubt happens anyway) to Revis, Dyson, Miller, etc...and that's a damn good secondary to build around

If I were to day dream we got Samuel, we would be a year or so of filling in holes from being a dominant Top 5 D.

    CB-Dyson, Samuel, Revis
    OLB-Thomas, ?one more guy needed
ILB-Vilma(will perform better with true NT), Harris
NT-Robertson?, we need a fat mess
DE-Ellis, ?Could use one more 3-4 DE Ty Warren mold
S-Rhodes, Smith or Coleman(I like Smith a lot and think Coleman is toast this year for his starting job)

Please don't insult the others by adding Miller to that group.. I'd put Poteat up there before Miller's name was even a consideration.

  14. Whether you want to admit it or not, Miller is STILL only 22 years old and is IMMENSELY physically talented. Many including myself still believe he can development into a very good # 2 corner.

I hope that you and he prove me wrong, as it will only benefit the team.

For now, my depth chart is

    1) Dyson
    2) Revis/Barrett
    3) Barrett/Revis
    4) Poteat
    5) Coleman
    6) Rubber Dog Shit
    7) The guy who delivers my Chinese food
    8) Justin Miller

He's never there in "10 minutes," contrary to what the guy on the phone tells me!

Now who's spreading misinformation? The chinese guy always says "10 minute", not "10 minutes". U are the only SLW in this thread.
