We will trade down out of the 1st , especially when A Thomas is finally released which will give us our pass rusher for 2 seasons.

The fact we traded 2011 picks says that Tanny recognises how important this draft is.

Posturing ref safeties will continue to draft day , i will be amazed if KR is here in August

When will people realize that Adalius Thomas has played as good as Bryan Thomas with the Pats?

He's not going to come here and be the AT he was with the Ravens.

Also, the guy isn't due any money bonus wise. So he wouldn't be cut for sometime.

With our defense I would wager money that a 33 yr Old adalius thomas would rack up more sacks than old cactus arms has done.

We still have one more year of the Gholston Project though! This might be the year!

If we give up a first rounder it better be for Brandon Marshall.

    hahahahaha

That was good! Ok, I'm gonna stop hijacking this thread now :p

Bethea>Rhodes - But, Rhodes needs to be moved for value first.

You're right, but he doesn't have to replace BT, just rotate with him.

Yeahhhh. Why would I ever trade a 1st round pick for that guy when I could draft a guy like Robertson or Gholston

Oh come on, you and I both know it's better if we draft someone at the position.

That argument worked better before the current FO came in and Mangini left.

Agreed, but I'd have no problem with bringing in Adalius. Maybe BT could become trade bait. Maybe we could draft a playmaker elsewhere. It would give us options.

Who says we couldn't draft someone anyway?

What about Westerman? Rex was pretty high on him.

He can compete for a job with Gholston.

I just want someone who can hit the quarterback. I don't care who it is. I don't know if that guy is on the roster.

The addition of Cromartie (If he plays to his potential) will definitely help gets some whacks on the QB.

Staying within this thread, I would say adding Bethea would further benefit the guys up front. Our secondary would be extremely dangerous, and would create more coverage sacks. Thoughts?

Assuming we are unable to accquire more draft picks I dont think we should draft a linebacker this year. I think a DT/DE (possibly both) is going to be a top priority. And then theres a very good chance we draft an offensive player somewhere be it a wr/hb.

Even though our linebackers lack a dynamic pass rusher, our linebacking corp is pretty awesome. Pace, Harris, Scott, Thomas, then Rex wants to get Gholston/Westerman in the action and possibly add A. Thomas as well.

Id be much happier just seeing us focus purely on the defensive line assuming guys we feel are a good fit are available.

And if Gholston becomes officially done after this season we can go out and get a linebacker early next year (or in the free agency)

I can easily see a trade back to pick someone like Norwood in the second as the next move for getting a solid pass rush on this team.

Bethea is a solid player but not worth a first rounder. I'm surprised people here would actually entertain the thought of trading a first rounder for him.

I don't think anyone on this board is looking at Adalius Thomas as a full-time starter. As I said in the AT thread, good rotational depth if he is willing to accept the role. Nothing more.
