Wow didnt even realize that. Coulda swore that Houston had him signed. That changes things a little bit.

I guess in that case I take him over Hoyer.

I mean not for nothing, Ryan Mallett has been a part of the free agent talk for months now. Either way, I hope we end up with him or Fitzpatrick and Hoyer ends up in Houston. Both of them are better options than him.

As for mallet specifically, not only can he come in in challenge Geno this year, but he can be someone we build towards the future with. Not saying it's a homerun, but if you bring in Fitzpatrick or if you're unlucky enough to only be able to bring in Hoyer, you know neither of them are your answer.

It would be a creative move. I'd have no problem with taking a shot with a guy like Mallett over going with sub par players like Hoyer, Sanchez, Fitzpatrick, etc.

Just saying it takes 1 minute to do research, no need to be blindly posting incorrect information.

Jeesh this place really has become full of sensitive posters.

Incorrect information? As in what? An opinion?

Everything I said about Mallet when thinking of him as a trade target I think about him as a free agent. So its the same opinion either way. Pretty sure anyone can realize that too.

Just about trading for him, i mean obviously no big deal. Didn't mean to sound like a dick.

Yes I totally agree with this. Mallet is somebody who can potentially be long term solution if he lives up to expectations. Fitz and Hoyer would obviously just be stop gaps just like a million people have already said. I say let's go for mallet. And if he ends up not working out were just gonna have to give Geno another shot.

As long as the Jets bring in someone to have a legit QB competition, I don't care who it is. Geno can't be given the job again like last year.

Fucking greedy ass Texans are going to take both Mallett and Hoyer. Urgh, I hate Fitzpatrick. Hoyer and Mallet still have upside.

Looks like Geno Smith will be the starting QB.

QB Brian Hoyer is going to be a Houston Texan per sources.

Hope this is true, don't really want Hoyer.
Just grab Fitz and take a QB at 6 or in round 2.

Sounds like Hoyer is going to be a Texan. That means we won't end up with the worst free agent quarterback on the market. Good news. Now let's make a push for mallet, or worst case scenario we probably end up with Fitz.

Wonder if the Jets are thinking about this -- ( PFT )

At a time when the 49ers are trying to shoot down rumors regarding a possible trade of quarterback Colin Kaepernick, the 49ers soon will have another significant issue to deal with.

Some very surprising news related to the 49ers is coming, likely later today, regarding a key player on the team who won’t be on the team in 2015. A formal announcement is expected on Tuesday.

That’s all we can say for now. But when it happens, you’ll be shocked — even though you’re now duly braced to be shocked.

49ers seem like the top candidate this upcoming season to nose dive from their previous record.

You are telling me Blaine Gabbert and Ryan Lindley were already signed? I know you don't like Hoyer, but let's not act stupid and make posts such as these. Hoyer is far better then those QBs as well as several others in FA. He would be an excellent stop-gap.

Also, Mallet was already resigned. Fitzpatrick has absolutely 0 upside. Better off giving Geno Smith the job.
