Very classy post NC. I know that you wanted more of an OC mind and Daboll was at the top of your list. Yet you kept an open mind and thoughtfully giving this selection every benefit of the doubt. Let’s us Hope he makes us all proud with a well balanced approach to both sides of the ball. I am confident of one thing. I think this team will be disciplined and well prepared. Look forward to many more years of fun exchanges with you regarding this team, the CS and the draft.

LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everything I've read about the guy is all that the Jets have lacked for many years: a true leader who brings his players together and makes them play for each other. I don't care that he's a DC, he seems to know that being a CEO is what's required and I absolutely love this hire.
Hopefully, LaFleur will be smart enough to adapt his system to the Jets QB and talents, not try to force them into a rigid system. If he does, he and the QB will fail as will Saleh.
All legitimate concerns, though I do think some teams have have used that line of thinking to force the issue and reach for offensive assistants over potentially better defensive guys since 2/3 of the recent hires have been from the offensive side. I'm not going to pretend to be an expert coordinators, but the the fact that this was clearly Douglas' guy and seems universally beloved by his players are all big positives to me.
Idk if this is the right move... But either way doesn't it hurt the value of #2 if everyone knows/thinks we're not taking a QB? I don't love any of the QBs but kinda feel when you're picking top 2 and you don't have a franchise QB................ I don't want to say you HAVE to take A QB but........ You.... Kinda..... Have.... To... Take... A QB?
I'm good with the hire. JD did say we needed a new culture and I think that Saleh will bring a Rex Ryan/Pete Carroll type energy. If he brings Mike LeFleur, it may mean Sam is staying. But a lot of work needs to be done.
I agree. It's not a given that LaFleur will come, but if he does, that's what will make this more exciting for me as long as he isn't stupid and tries to force square pegs into round holes.
Not a guarantee, but seeing that Shanahan and his brother have been smart enough to adapt their systems with much success make me hopeful that he will as well.
