Korn Ferry is a PERSONNEL firm, not a bastion of football acumen.

This is like looking in the want-ads for a coach.

    It shows Woody is clueless.

You guys who think this is a good, try going to the Korn-Ferry webpage.

People say Woody is an idiot. So he hires someone else to conduct a search. Woody is still seen as an idiot by some...

Weird logic going on. Good move by Woody, sometimes you need a different set of eyes.

Read the guy's bio.He has a long history of bringing good things to pro football franchises.

All he's doing is gathering the best candidates..it will still ultimately be Woody's decision.

Dont know if anyone posted it but I read that he was key in the hiring of Neil Glat as Jets President this past April.

    Jets Hire Neil Glat

    Source giving Hughes Credit

Also looks like he was instrumental in the Packers hiring Mark Murphy who built up a great talent base in Green Bay and oversaw the team switching from Favre to Rodgers.

    Right. Woody is the owner.

Do you think they will merely find 6 candidates and say here you go, good luck?

They are consultants and will offer their opinion as they are being paid to opine.

  7. Given this guy's background I'd venture to guess he will be actively involved in the process & will likely provide Woody strongly leaned on feedback.

There are examples almost every year of a team that goes last to first, teams that go 4-12 and are in the division race the following season. It doesn't always have to do with a franchise QB.

Despite my rants about the Jets, they do have some pieces in place. Get a smart front office in there, one that knows how to build for the future, one that knows how to build a solid, deep team from the core on out, and this isn't a multi-year rebuilding job.

This is how I come out on this. I have very little faith in going to a publicly traded company to find the right guy. I have zero confidence in the Jets front office/owner's suite.

Korn Ferry was utilized in finding Roger Goodell to be the commissioner of the NFL in 2006. This is all I need to know about it being a mistake.

The candidates the Jets are requesting interviewing are a who's who of guys that have been tabbed as GM's in waiting. Looks like the head hunting firm is bringing in a list of qualified guys to interview.
