They fired the GM and HC and drafted a new QB on the 1 pick. That has nothing to do with smart people in the front office or anything like that. It has to do with losing a lot of games the year before when the best QB prospect in a half a decade at least was available and in their owner making the move on Polian and company.
yeah but the Fleener, Allen, Hilton and Ballard picks all worked out along with the 3-4 transition Ryan Grigson, Chuck Pagano and Bruce Arians did a helluva job with this team, thats how you re-load
It's true that when you take a QB it makes sense to just overload on the offensive side of the ball. That doesn't change the fact that the Colts are 4-12 this year if great QB prospects were not available in the year they went 2-14. That's pure luck at work. The complete blowout in the management suite was due to the fact that Bill Polian was on the fence on Manning-Luck for too long and even though he was on the Suck for Luck bandwagon by the end there was a lingering impression that he'd always be looking over his shoulder at Manning during the transition. Irsay needed everybody all-in or the Colts were going to suck for awhile and so he cleaned house. Nothing like new hires to make sure they are all-in.
Andrew Luck would make Tannenbaum look like GM of the decade. Unfortunately it is a rare occasion when someone like Luck is available to draft. We need a brilliant GM to come in and find us the next Tom Brady, Aaron Rogers or even someone similar to Kaeppernick (not saying he's going to be great, but you get the idea) and surround that QB with good young talent through the draft.
You're complaining about the hiring of an executive now. The guy actually has an impressive football resume. Another shit poster.
I posted this before,,,I am not sure who the right guy is but I would not hate Scott Pioli,,,,,,any one care to chime in ?
Yep - our problem has always been not sucking badly enough at the right times - I would just love for once for the Jets to have a top tier QB, which has never been the case in my entire time as a Jets fan (if its ever been the case).
Don't know shit about this guy but who knows maybe he can get us a stud GM. Better then Woody's stupid ass making the decision.
I want nothing to do with anything that is part of the Parcells tree. I don't want anyone in the Jets organization to ever talk to this man again. He has been advising Rex and Tanny all along, where do you think Sprano came from. it was Parcells idea.
Let's play a game. It's called name the top 6 QBs in the sport. Brady, Manning, Rodgers, Brees, Eli Manning, Big Ben...... Now take a look at who has won the last 6 superbowls: Giants, Packers, Saints, Steelers, Giants, Colts...... The runners up in those games? Pats, Steelers, Colts, Cards (with HOF QB Kurt Warner), Pats, and Bears (lol which one of these is not like the other). The entire sport is about the QB. Everything else is insignificant.
good, nice to see woody realize he doesnt know wtf he is doing. hopefully this guy will help bring in a good leader. then maybe he can help woody out as a side job.
This seems like a good move. We should be able to tell very quickly because anyone who knows anything about leadership would blow up this entire mess tomorrow. He needs to take a look at Brian Gaine for GM. He's a young guy from New York, worked his way through the scouting ranks and knows personnel.
