I said it before many times, we absolutely, positively and unequivocally did not have a strong, well integrated run first philosophy. Not only we didn’t work hard at establishing one or demand it, , but the game plan in my opinion was nothing but an outline that changed at the first indication of a problem or changed at the line of scrimmage by AR. Granted a lot of it was poor execution that negated long runs, but the underlining issue here remains AR willingness to fit within this new scheme, and with some financial adjustments. I might be dead wrong, but I see the likeness of that happening very, very unlikely.
felt like his running calls at the line were so unimaginative. He would take up the entire play clock and then audible into a yet another off-tackle running play. IF he got the snap off in time, it would get stuffed it also doesn’t help that he can’t run himself. The Eagles have nearly double the amount of rushing attempts the Jets had!!
I hear you, which is why there is a chance he is back, but I still think the odds are against it. He can just outright retire. Glenn and Mooge might prefer another QB with a chance at the upside, like Fields, the way Minny hit with Sam. They might like Tyrod as a bridge for half a season and get a QB in the second round. They may not like financial consequences of Rodgers' staying extra year. They may not believe he will run Tanner's offense and not check out of runs or pass to Adams over GW all the time. They may not like the fact Rodgers lost a lot of mobility as it is a big piece of today's modern QB. They may feel to change the culture, AG needs to be a clear top voice, and Rodgers could overshadow him. Overall, combination of all of the above, and given the fact Rodgers while can still play, he is no longer a star but at or below average QB, I feel it is unlikely he back. Even though there is a path to return, and it is not impossible, I feel much more likely he doesn't.
It's really quite amusing that you, of all people, have the balls to accuse others of trolling. Just because someone makes a statement you disagree with doesn't mean they are doing anything other than expressing an opinion.
This sure looks like unfounded opinion to me. "All" means a whole lot more than two guys interviewed who were put on the spot. Let us know when you get fifty guys offering their unsolicited opinion that they want Rodgers as a teammate next year. And seriously, are we to believe that you actually know the temperature of the relationship between the owner and the QB? Sheesh!
I say we keep Rodgers. I mean, who else do we have that could start? Taylor? I'd rather stick with Aaron.
The Jets abandoned the run every time Rodgers started playing hero ball. But it's not like the gameplans had functioning adult thought going into them.
What do you expect that to do in 2025 and what do you then expect for 2026 and beyond? Would winning eight or nine games this year be that meaningful?
You said: "Rodgers the person ruins all of that." That same person "that ruins all of that" fought tooth and nail to come back from a devastating injury when he could have easily quit snd given up. You can make him out to be whatever but he clearly tried his hardest to and was unselfish as anyone could possibly be after such a bad injury.
Yes I have sources. The Jets easily can make it known now that they don't want Rodgers back but they haven't. Why do you think that is? Because they want him back but it comes down to whether Rodgers wants to continue his career or not.
Actually they were non-committal at the press conference. If they wanted to keep him, why would they be non-committal for no reason. Rodgers is the starting QB and under contract. That’s all they had to say. they didn’t though, which leads me to think they could be ready to move on you have zero sources so stop trolling again
Why would they ever come out and say they don’t want a player back that’s under contract months before they’d potentially cut him? They wouldn’t.
They would want it known so they can trade him. Look at Cooper Kupp If they have no intention of keeping him it would be known by now. Yes I do have sources, not trolling.
I don't think running the football is a viable primary goal for an NFL offense any more. Good RBs like Saquon are nice to have, but if you look around the league, the most successful teams have potent passing attacks.
