Or the way to get better is to change the diaper as soon as you smell it.

Maybe you should stop feeding the baby so much.

And you change the diaper as soon as you see it? Why change the diaper before it's there?

Plus, the 4 latest games is like a fart in this whole baby diaper context.

Yep. And then I'll tell the crying baby to stop overreacting because there's always next week, next month, next year.

Btw, this baby metaphor is getting to be ridiculous.

To go back to the original topic and off of the soiled diaper thing...

The Jets did not have a good season. In a league with as much parity as the NFL, no season is a success without a playoff birth. To quote our old friend, "YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME." Mediocrity is never to be confused with success.

Missing the playoffs after having been 8-3 is not just a failure, it's a downright embarrassment.

I think most Jet fans will disagree with you. The Jets were a colossal failure this year. Sure it was an improvement from last year, but you guys became overhyped the day you grabbed Farva. And then proceeded to go from Sure Division Champs at 8-3, to choke your season away and out the playoffs at 9-7. Just when I thought the Bills failure couldn't be topped, you guys just had to outdo them. How generous.

As for a good draft, let's be real for a second. Jets with a good draft? :rofl2:

And add a necessary FA or 2? You should've thought about that before mortgaging the future and trying to buy a ring by making it rain on Faneca, Pace, Jenkins, and Woody. Sure is going to suck not having the money to sign players you might actually need. Oh well.

But in your world....things didn't go bad. This team was in it...right till the end.

it's time to change things up, Dware....whether you're too stubborn to see that...is not my problem. The reality is that the Jets played inconsistently all season...and it starts with the coach...he's responsible for the shitty playcalling...and should take the fall.

This season was an AWFUL season. WORSE than 2007's 4-12. We had the talent to win 12-13 games, we were 8-3 and being talked about as a SB contender and we didn't even make the playoffs! This wasn't like 1997 where we had a young team and missed by a game, this wasn't like 2000 where we had a bunch of miracle wins and lost our 3 last to miss the playoffs- this was one of the worst seasons I have ever seen played by the Jets especially when you factor in we gave away our QB and he led a less talented team to a division title in our division.

Totally agree. Bad choice of words. Both of those teams earned a spot in the Playoffs.

I would have signed up for a 9-7 season before the season began. But after starting 8-3 and having an easy part of the schedule on the horizon, there is just no excuse. Finishing 1-4 against the Broncos, 49ers, Bills, Seahawks, and Dolphins is just pathetic. The coaching staff and players need to be accountable for this monumental collapse.

I had them at 6-10 before Farve. I was at 10-6 after Farve. When the team was 8-3, I figured they would win at a minimum 12 games given the schedule. That was before the Great Collapse of 2008.

Good season? In spurts yeah. Did we improve? narrowly on the DLine before they were gassed by game 12. Did we learn anything at all? Yep. Our talent isn't nearly as good as it should be and neither is our entire CS.
