So Jackson turned down 50 million a year because only 133 million was guaranteed.

Good luck Baltimore. Just say "no" JD.

Jackson should get the non exclusive tag, let teams set his market. Ravens can match or move on. He's and his mom are not gonna like it lol. He needs an agent, I'll never understand that thought process..

Jackson is doing his best to make himself un-tradable and un-signable.

I thought Lamar Jackson not having an agent was unprecedented but apparently it is not. I read a NY Times article that it is becoming more common as players think the agents aren't doing enough to earn the 3-6% they take.

Richard Sherman, DeAndre Hopkins, Bobby Wagner all negotiated their contracts without using agents. There is more but that's 3 of them that stood out to me.

And now that college players can get paid through NIL deals they are used to negotiating contracts with their families only before they come into the NFL so we may see this a lot more.

So multiple first round picks and an insane fully guaranteed contract? Yea, fuck that.

Any of those guys would be a huge improvement over the shit show we've had at quarterback since Fitz in 2015. Our qb play last year even when we were winning was god awful. Rogers with an average year would get this fanbase in a frenzy we haven't seen since Rex 2010, or maybe even Herm going up against the Raiders after WAXING the colts in the playoffs. Jackson would give us years of hope and electric moments if not some good playoff runs, Carr would give us stability, competence and playoff appearances, and Brissett would give us good backup level quarterbacking. I would sign up for any of those after the shit we saw last year.

I’m in awe of the stability and competence David Carr gave the Raiders. It was literally a clinic of stability and competence.

No way to multiple first round picks and fully guaranteed 5 year contract for a player who’s been hurt more and more recently and will likely continue to get hurt. His speed and elusiveness make him unique and a threat to score at any time, but he will get hurt, he’s not a great passer, and it’s just too expensive in terms of picks. Hard pass for me.

Jackson wants the money guaranteed for the exact same reason a team should not be giving him a fully guaranteed contract, because he wants protection when his body fails him. BAL just needs to tag him and let the free market decide if he’s worth that.
